#Offset2014
Last weekend I headed to Offset in Dublin with some designer/illustrator/animator friends. It's an annual conference over 3 days which showcases the very best of the creative industries. There were lots of inspiring speakers and some amazing work on show. I always come away from these things with absurd goals, maybe it's time I tried to realise them. Some are probably more achievable than others...
1. Go and work in a beach hut in Bali for a month.
2. Buy an old PSNI landrover and open a travelling soup kitchen for the homeless.Â
3. Buy a warehouse. Mike Perry's warehouse exhibition space was amazing, I would love to hold an exhibition somewhere like that. Added bonus if it was sponsored by Duvel or another delicious beer. Further research has shown his website to be utterly class as well. I love it.
My personal highlights were Pentagram's Marina Willer, the Serpentine Gallery branding is beautiful. Also loved the Oxfam work she showed from her time at Wolff Olins.Â
My takeaway thoughts are that I don't need to see any more pictures of Stefan Sagmeister's penis. And I need to be more disciplined in actually making sure I do the things I want to.Â
