So I made a list of things to do for my sister (15) during her summer break. Especially if you don't know what to do instead of doom scrolling. I don't want the list to go down in our chat, so I'm posting this here for future-me and mayhaps for you:
Go out for a walk/hike (hike sounds cooler) (while you're at it, adopt the street cat, the hedgehog or that cutely formed stone on the road)
Go for a run (pls don't die, stay strong)
Get some gear for something - maybe roller skates? (I used to LOVE skating, until I had to get a new pair and I couldn't find, for the life of me, a pair that had rubber blades only. They only had a mix of rubber and plastic. Worst year of my life, until I quit it, because social media consumed me) (If you get anything from this - GET RUBBER BLADES)
Try out yoga (there's tons of guided videos online, choose your pick)
Check your local second-hand store for newly arrived books and maybe get some insights on when they restock
Take a bus to your siblings working place and annoy the shit out of them
Pick up drawing again
Do that 1k puzzle that has been collecting dust on the shelf or take this as a sign and get a cool ass puzzle
Go crazy on some old clothes or sew something new out of them
Study that language you've been putting off/you studied once and left off
Do some journaling
Make a spread-sheet in a notebook/a poster about your favorite songs, shows, movies, lyrics, citations, or hell, your favorite flowers and mushrooms with cute pics, different colored pens and stickers
Try out cartwheeling at the back of your garden and see if you still got it (and if not, practice!) - maybe even a handstand, go wild go crazy you only life once etc.
Go swimming by yourself or with some friends
Get some pearls and make some cool ass jewelry - alone or with a friend and a bag of chips and some sick ass music
Get a piece of paper and channel your inner interior designer by mapping out what your dream place would look like - make notes and mention must-haves - idk, think of Sims but on paper with a pencil (maybe print some furniture, or a color palette or smth and stick that shit on there)
Write a short story (or a scene you saw recently that made you think "bro, this could've been so much better IF" - yeah, write that down, actually)
Think about a true crime story and write out how you would have handled it and maybe gotten away with it
Get those magazines and newspapers that somehow still exist and make a collage (use cardboard as the base, so it's not wobbly) (also, use markers, write lyrics, do a whole damn graphic story - make it awesome!)
Apropos lyrics: Learn some lyrics by heart (sounds stupid, but trust me, it's so liberating actually knowing the entirety of the lyrics, blasting it on full volume, and screaming along hihi)
Try some hairstyles you never get around to, bc time management and you are not compatible - see if there's something you could actually adapt into your every-day life
Paint your finger and toe nails and make em look pretty/cool af
Rearrange your knick-knacks, table, book shelves, wardrobe, furniture, plants, cupboard, fridge, idk, shower supplies?
Get some paint and paint that annoying wall that offends your eyes every time you gaze upon it
Sort out the clothes you never wear and give them away for a good cause
Paint
Make some bomb ass lemonade (dozens of tutorials)
Bake something you've been craving (I am begging for some lemon cake, nooooooooom)
Okay I'm done. Sorry - that was more than expected. Have fun!!!
