Had a fun time at offkai over the past weekend! Minus having to walk a mile in boots for parking. lol Seeing vtubers checking out cons remotely on ipads strapped to robots is both awesome and silly
Apparently Offkai is have some fighting game tournaments? That sounds fun. Maybe I'll try reaching out to some of the entrants if they stream and see if they want to run sets and whatnot.
Besides, if I do well the attendees might see me more as an individual and less a crazy person bringing politics and reality into their spaces. Harder to dismiss that way
Hey that post is getting enough traction; maybe (realistically) less than 1% will check out OP (hi) and respond to my calls to raise awareness at events such as AnimeExpo, OffKai, your state/local convention of choice, and other such spaces. I'd like to spread information about what's been happening and why it's important to consider the real world and the digital world one and the same; why it's important to have these discussions even if they may make people feel uncomfortable. Im going to offkai! Its a convention in san jose for vtubers. There are a lot of discord people i know going but i also want to network for my twitch stream. I also bought masks from @covid-safer-hotties resources because its a super spreader event for sure
I should've crashed OffKai. It would have left me stranded more than half a day away from where I live with no feasible way to return just so I could deliver a message nobody at that convention wants to hear as part of a broader conversation nobody at that convention wants to engage with, but it would've accomplished a couple things, such as:
Been memorable
Gotten the message to people
Saved people from the smell of OffKai
My first time at OffKai!!! Gotta bring out the vtuber cosplays for this one!
