People want a more complex game, but minimal requirements
I keep reading on how people want more populated worlds, no rabbit holes, more complex CAS options, etc. But then they want the Sims 4 to run on basic PCs that are 5 years old. And I can't help but think of how unrealistic that is. Personally, I want EA to raise the requirements and stop holding simmers with better PCs back just so casual gamers can play the game. I think this game needs to at least require the specs of a base model PC from 2011. If it requires more, but will give a more immersible and rich gaming experience, then I'm all for that too. And that is the end of my little rant.
I agree with this OP because I fit in the category of a simmers with a top of the line PC, actually I own two PCs, and I want a iMac to do some graphic design for the blog and video editing for my let's play videos and live streams I plan to do once the game is released, but I can understand the devs want to make the game so it works for players who have older and not so great computers

In my opinion, The Sims 3 is a good game with a bad bug. One that cannot be fixed in a patch. You see, from what I gather, the entire town is loaded up from the start, every Sim is programmed in one big "shell" and the game runs each of these Sims at the same time.
While TS2 had one house/area per loading screen, and the visiting Sim teleported to the end of the street and walked in, that's not what the developers should go back to when making The Sims 4. Many open world games get away with what they do by hiding the rest of the world behind hidden loading screens. The game loads these areas silently when you move the character into the next area. Skyrim does it a lot, and there's even a loading screen when fast traveling. What The Sims 4 should do is exactly that. Each area of the open neighborhood should be within these "cells" and when you move the camera, the other cell that you move it into loads silently, so the entire neighborhood doesn't have to load at the same time. Sims you don't play would be loaded doing random things to give the illusion that they've been living their life. When you select another Sim, the game would simply load back around them no matter what "cell" they're in and where the camera is. This pic is just a visual reference to how the neighborhood would be split up into different areas.
I agree Cell loading is more advanced these days and much better for loading large amounts of information. Many advanced games do this now.
Skyrim does have a lot of loading for dungeons, towns, and homes and Sims 4 doesn't have to load in this same manner. To do cell loading you don't have to revert back to single lot loading. However the map needs to cut down on how much it's loading. Even with advanced computer systems they can only load so much in a given amount of time. Too much information coming is a problem and it creates bigger problems. So finding a smoother way of running an open neighborhood is important. Especially since sims is the only simulator game that's really running everything all at once. Second sims 3 does some form of cell loading but on a mass scale. Basically the map is divided into large zones. The zone that is active is what actually loads up as the player moves through the map the zone activates and loads. However it's loading too much at once and so players a lot of times will be waiting for the meshes to load their textures, animations to load, etc. These can cause a lot of lag in some areas. Many times it's not just the open map that's the problem. Corrupted sims can cause issues in the map or spawning items as well. The car spawn bug is a problem as well. Anyway i agree with what your saying the one big thing about sims was having a lot of sims in a map. I love having a lot of sims in one lot and i had that problem where most of my town venue's are empty. (again i think a design flow with the community lots themselves and the traits). So the more people in a town the better. I'm hoping the sims team found better solutions to make the maps more enjoyable and playable for users.

http://The Goth's CAS Video Released!!! - NEW STUFF & CONFIRMATIONS
New stuff and confirmations: There are still traits but it seems each aspiration unlocks an additional trait. These traits include quick learner and gregarious. The walks look much better. So many new hair styles and a good amount of hair colours too! Multicoloured and highlighted hair is in there but I assumed they are all presets. Far more ethnically diverse sims than in ts3. There seems to so far be a way to set hair and outfits for everyday, formal, athletic, sleep and occasion ware. (Judging by the UI above the right panel) There is a new feature to quickly define a certain look called styled looks. You can change the colours of these looks which is good. e.g. sunny weather or a ball gown. Good amount of jewellery and tattoos for the base game too! Beauty marks/moles are back. Accesories include: tights/pantihose, leggings, socks, gloves, rings, bracelets and necklaces. Skyscrapers. New build/buy UI.
I think the hair style is better in this last trailer. I realy love it!
Improvements
1) Texture; 2) Hair root; 3) Ends of the hair is thinner. But I think some models are still bad. The ends of the hair should be smaller and thinner. So it would be softer. What do you think about this?
http://The Sims 4 Expansion Pack Ideas
Posted by Mia576 from SIms 3 Forum
Bringing this topic on is silly, but seeing everyone wants to share their ideas I thought I could do so as well. The Sims 4 is still in production. We know nothing about it except that it's an offline experience, CAS and B&B modes have been overhauled and the focus is on Sim-Sim interactions. However, this hasn't been a blockage for me thinking about EP ideas, since the game is bound to have some. So, um, this is my list. A note: I don't want all of these EPs, but at least a similar one out of these... You probably won't like some ideas, but I hope you'll like something... 1. The Sims 4: Life in the Country Explanation: being able to move out of one neighborhood into another, selling produce, taking care of livestock (horses, cows, chickens, sheep, llamas!), owning a farm business, introduction of various farming machines, new entertainment objects such as windmill, many new types of farms, villages, new life state is PlantSim... (dogs in cats are in the base game) 2. The Sims 4: Next Generations Explanation: this pack has elements of Generations; family things should be included in the base game, but if certain things don't get into it, I'd be happy to see them here: includes theme and amusement parks, roller coasters and other rides, town fairs and various fun games to play in them, daycare for babies and toddlers, perhaps university (or more university elements, if included in base game already), retirement homes.... 3. The Sims 4: Urban Streets Explanation: includes one gigantic city named SimCity, ability to own major businesses, has elements of the rumored Millionaire EP for The Sims 3, elements of Late Night, Showtime, introduction of circuses, real acting careers, skyscrapers that aren't shells... 4. The Sims 4: Charms of Nature (stupid EP, I know) Explanation: ability to visit various regions around the world filled with a lot of new plants, beings and animals, regions being: forests & swamps (death by Quicksand and like that ), jungles and tropical islands (with elements of Castaway Stories, perhaps), north pole, savannas & deserts, new animals: whales, giraffes, monkeys, wolves, squirrels, polar bears... (you get the point), ability to go underwater (from IP) etc... (it has both adventure and vacation features!!) 5. The Sims 4: Abracadabra! Explanation: magic: lots of new spells, potions, ability to go to magic schools, new underworld feature (maybe Hell and Heaven too? no?), creatures of the supernatural, superpowers (elements of an Superhero EP) such as telekinetics, pyromaniac, teleportation etc... ability to inherit superpowers... 6. The Sims 4: Galactic Adventrues Explanation: new creatres, like Aliens and other space thingies, ability to visit stars, planets... death by black hole; perhaps military career has a greater role (like, in a alien invasion?), new objects like rockets, launching pads... 7. The Sims 4: Around the Globe Explanation: ability to visit various places around the world, new mysteries, new things like airports, airplanes, cruises... all neighborhoods are connected, learn from different cultures... 8. The Sims 4: Time Travel (my least favourite) Explanation: Ability to travel and visit various periods in both the past and the future (like, stone age, middle ages, old ages, new age, near future....) 9. The Sims 4: Sport Life Explanation: participate in various sport events, new sports like football, tennis, basketball, ballet, ice skating... ability to play in groupd in first-person view... FYI: Seasons and OFB are in the base game. As well as FreeTime and Nightlife. Please, share your opinions on this and OF COURSE your wishes and opinions!
