Fandom People will yell about how platonic relationships needs more depth and appreciation in fiction and within fandoms, but they really only mean that with M/F relationships. Because the second two men (especially) or two women have even a basic friendship — let alone a deep one — they call it "queerbaiting" if they remain platonic.
No, two men characters or two women characters (same age, not related) having a platonic bond (even *gasp* a strong one) is not what queerbaiting is. And a character is not queer-coded just because you want them to be queer.
