ooc; hi! i am super sorry if i'm bugging you but i actually had a few questions. i saw you're in med school and was just sort of wondering what it's like? like, how hard was it to get it, which one are you in, did they require any sort of shadowing hours, etc. i'm thinking of applying to med school once i earn my BS and just kind of wanted to get an actual students perspective on it instead of some snooty counselor basically telling me i won't ever be accepted. so, yeah, thanks in advance!
omg i never got anything like this so excuse my excitment!!! But first, I am from Portugal and I bet the way of access universities here is very different from where you live. USA or England or another country? I know people in med school on Tumblr and I think one of them is from USA as well but I will ask for you! What I can tell you, and I bet it is the same no matter where you live, is that if it is really what you want, don’t give up. Here in Portugal it is not easy to enter in med school either and this was my second turn trying and I have classmates who only got in after trying three or four times!! It is hard, sometimes you feel like it is not worth it and that you might be wasting your time but once you see what you can do in the future, everything makes sense and becomes so clear. Like yesterday I had this practical class of basic life support and realizing that I am able to save someone it is the best feeling in the world!! Also I intubed a ‘toy’ yesterday and it was my first time and I did it right at first and I was so sooo happy because it is something so related to be a doctor. All the theorical classes are boring but they are needed but then the practical are worth everything. If it is what you want, don’t give up. Work hard and you will do it. Believe you can do it because it is true! Anything else you need, I am here for you!
