After the stressful morning she’d had after hearing of the news that had been announced all over, Rey had finally decided she needed to distract herself. She couldn’t stand to pace around the Resistance base any longer, worrying about the inevitable discovery that she had been one of the guilty suspects. But she felt like it was bound to come out at any time - already she knew of a few people who knew she had slipped out of the main hall that evening when she wasn’t supposed to, and there might even be more who had seen her that she hadn’t even noticed. Thinking about it made her incredibly anxious, and she knew she needed to relax a bit.
Thankfully, she spotted Padme passing through, and Rey eagerly headed towards the woman, attempting to hide any signs of nervousness. She wasn’t sure if the entire Resistance even knew that it had been her and Poe just yet - if they did, that only made it more dangerous, if someone were to accidentally spill their names to anyone from the First Order. But she avoided the subject with Padme, instead putting on a light smile. “Hey, um, how’s your afternoon going?” She stepped into line alongside her, not sure where she was heading, but following anyway and hoping it was alright with her. Then she remembered their last conversation, and her eyes lit up a bit. “Did you find the rest of your family yet?”
