Went to my backyard and wanted to see what I could find! Oh my gosh it was so worth it, nothing but the prettiest insects!
First up is a Japanese Beetle! Unfortunately, they are completely invasive in the United States of America. If you see one, it is okay to *humanely* kill them. (You can collect them in a container and freeze them, It's cold but painless).
Ok ramble over- the rest of the photos include a white firefly, some type of katydid, and my favorite- a female Ebony Jewelwing!
I have such a fixation on damselflies and dragonflies right now, they are SO beautiful. All my time studying different species is paying off too, I recognized her immediately!
