When the month of Asadha arrives, it is believed that Basumati (Mother Earth) experiences her menstrual cycle. The people of Odisha then celebrate Raja Parba, a vibrant four-day festival honoring womanhood, fertility, and the cycles of Mother Earth.
“Raja” itself means menstruation. While many around the world treat periods as a taboo, we celebrate them with color, joy, beautiful clothes, shringar, delicious food, and swings.
Wishing a very happy Raja Parba to every woman out there! Let’s celebrate life, womanhood, and our menstrual cycles, and express our gratitude to Basumati for enriching our lives with her endless bounties.

नमामि रामं रघुवंशनाथम्।।"
Neelambuj Shyaamal Komal Aangam (the one, whose body is as dark and soft as a blue lotus)
Sita Samaropita Vaam Bhaagam (the one, whose left side is graced by Goddess Sita)
Paanou Mahasaayak Chaaru Chaapam (the one, whose hands are adorned by a beautiful bow and an infallible arrow)
Namami Ramam Raghuvansh Naatham (I offer salutations to the Lord Ram, who is the best among the kings of Raghu dynasty)
Happy Rama Navami!

For those who don't know, Rajo (ରଜ) is an Indian festival native to the state of Odisha. This is a 3-day long festival, wherein we celebrate the menstruation of Mother Earth. It's a festival meant exclusively for girls (though boys aren't barred from enjoying it too). We dress-up, play on swings, and eat delicious pithas... It's heaven ❤️😌
