Odd Fellas Pub doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than what it is: a solid neighborhood local with good food and a 24-tap taplist that includes a solid selection of IPAs, lagers, porters, pales, and ciders.

The vibe here is exactly what you want when looking for something to eat during your beerventure in Tacoma: cozy, unpretentious, and smelling faintly of fryer oil and hops. Exploring the menu we found that the Red's Irish Chili was flat-out good. But whether you’re leaning into the heavier pub classics like the Cottage Pie or just grabbing a burger, it’s the kind of consistent, hearty fare that makes you want to settle into a booth and stay a while.

Craft Beer Selection

On the craft beer front, I was torn on what to order and settled on the Six Seven IPA from Grains of Wrath since I hadn't had that one yet. If you know GOW, you know they don’t miss when it comes to West Coast profiles. This collaboration (brewed with Backwoods) is a lean, mean, hop-forward machine. It hits with those bright citrus and berry notes they’re famous for, and I rated it a solid 3.75 caps on Untappd. It’s a clean, professional IPA that reminds you why Grains of Wrath keeps winning awards.

Cocktails Between Brews

If you’re moving off the draft list and into the spirits, Brady took a run at the Old Fashioned. To be fair, he said it had a bit of an "identity crisis" in the glass with a noticeable lack of depth and flavor profile on the front end. He says it won’t be winning any mixology gold medals for its nuanced notes of citrus peel or bitters. However, it made up for the lack of finesse with pure, unadulterated punch. It’s a "working man’s" cocktail; it might not tell you a story, but it’ll definitely get you to the end of the chapter.
