Dad, just now as we were all sitting out on the terrace for dinner. My family is an affectionate bunch. There’s only one person outside of my family I’m really comfortable with more or less that level of touch and she lives a good distance away sadly enough

Here have some Hades!Edge and Persephone!G headcanons:

*Sans (Panic) is honestly impossible. He’s so damn lazy and tells his stupid jokes and sometimes Edge is almost tempted to throw some fire at him. He’ll do what he’s told but y’know. With as little effort as possible.

*But some-fucking-how, G is capable of getting Sans to do exactly what he’s supposed to and Edge is both confused and infinitely happy

*It’s because G will share his fancy smokes if Sans is good and will not hesitate to go through with his threats if Sans is being dumb. 

*Edge usually threatens Sans and Papyrus a lot but they both know he’s not about to actually hurt them even a little (unless, of course, they destroy something Edge holds very dear).

*Edge does care for them both though.

*G smokes opium poppy. (Mostly because I couldn’t find anything else for him to smoke.) Because he’s a god and near invincible, it only gets him pleasantly buzzed. Don’t ever touch any opiates if you aren’t a literal immortal deity.

*Edge does not like G’s smoking in the least but he’ll mostly ignore it. He only has G for six months a year after all and does not want to spend a moment of it fighting. And he’s, too, a near invincible god so it’s not like the second-hand smoke will affect him - he just doesn’t like the smell.

*After G met Edge and they fell in love, and he ate the six pomegranate seeds, he started wearing pomegranate blossom crowns. In part because they remind him of Edge when he’s up on Earth during summer, and in part because it annoys the hell out of his brother (G Pap is Demeter) who does Not Approve of his choice of spouse.

*He loves his brother he really does, but damn if he isn’t annoying when he keeps complaining about Edge. No he wasn’t forced to eat those pomegranate seeds, ffs. Technically Edge could have, being one of the Big Three, but he didn’t, shut the fuck up about his husband.

*He didn’t wear black chitons back before he met Edge. They were more nature colours. But now he’s got to flaunt his status as Prince of Hades, after all. Especially in his brother’s face.

*Edge can, as we’ve seen, summon fire with his hands. He does that a lot, and it tends to flare together with his temper (see Disney Hades, except he has no fire hair).

*To be honest, Edge can be a pretty terrifying monarch sometimes, but not like G. He’s a Papyrus, and therefor merciful into his soul. Now G, on the other hand… As Kamari put it, behind every great and terrible lord of the underworld is an even more terrifying thug wife who will not hesitate to beat you with a led pipe and toss your twitching body into a volcano XD. 

*See this is why Sans listens to G more than to Edge

*In all honesty G is both loved and feared all over Hades. So is Edge, but G even more. The God of Spring is their luck charm who shan’t be crossed

*He’s also loved and feared up on Olympus. Because Edge mostly keeps to himself down in his kingdom, socializing mostly with his minions (and also Phil!Red, who he has a huge rivalry going on with but who he secretly likes a lot), while G is ever the social butterfly who just so happens to have some of the world’s most terrifying monsters at his beck and call.

*G really likes being the Prince of Hades.

*G also gets very flustered at genuine praise about him being “lovely” or “pretty”. Like, more rough praise, yeah that’s good, but whenever Edge use softer words to describe him he goes yellow. Edge loves that it’s so cute

*G often watches his husband dress and will let out appreciative noises and call him “infernally handsome” and that will get Edge to blush even now. Except from his husband, Edge doesn’t get a lot of compliments: people are usually too intimidated by the King of Hades to dare.

*G Pap (what’s his nickname??) does not know, but during the summer months, Edge and G writes a lot of letters to each other, delivered by the tiniest of the underwordly demons. Not talking in six months… they did that at first and then it became painful and now they keep correspondence even when it’s G’s brother’s turn with the G.

*It’s really fucking annoying to G that apparently he’s a thing to trade and take turns on, between his husband and his brother. (But Edge would let him stay aboveground if he wanted to. It’d pain him, but he loves him enough to give him up if that’d make him happier. So it’s mostly his brother he’s mad at. And Swap Gaster, who plays the role of Zeus, for even creating this ridiculous schedule on when he’s allowed to live with his brother and his husband. He may be a bit bitter about it.)

*Edge has a garden he grew for G and uses tons of magic to keep it alive during the months G are away, despite them being underground.

*G is still a scientist and uses his plants for experiments.

Do you believe in ghosts?

To quote Edgar Allan Poe, or Germaine de Staël, or Bert Leston Taylor, or Charles A. Dana, or whoever said it,

I do not believe in ghosts, but I am awfully afraid of them.

I’ve actually seen ghosts twice. But I’ve also seen a fairy, and my dad has seen a farm gnome, so really, that doesn’t mean much. I don’t believe in ghosts, though I still am scared of graveyards in the dark. Which wasn’t too convenient back before I had my driving license and had to walk past the village church every winter night on my way home from the school bus, I gotta say. 

Then again I also live in the same home my family have lived in for about five generations (and village even longer), so I keep telling myself If ghosts existed - which they don’t - why on earth would they want to harm me? I’m not some city girl in a horror movie whose dad decided they needed a fresh start. I belong here.

Quiet tunes danced through the living room as Red plucked at the guitar strings where he sat on the couch. Both of his legs were up on it, one bowed, and he hummed a quiet song along with the slow melody. Asshole gnawed at his bare feet. It hurt, but Red only grinned softly down at him, and as their eyes met, they both quickly averted them. Neither wanted the other to know they cared.

By the writing desk next to the wall, where he was doing paperwork, Edge scoffed as he watched them, but his eyelights were gentle. Red winked at him, snapping at another string, and it resonated in the air. It was a lullaby. A typical, Fellverse lullaby he’d sung for his brother when they were children. As Edge closed his eyes, Red knew he recognized it. He hummed louder, and watched his brother relax for once.
