To be honest all the anger, resentment, and behavioral mandates I keep seeing on this site and my dash are kind of depressing as fuck you know? Like it’s fine to be mad and stuff but I don’t know trying to control the thoughts and actions of others and refusing to consider that things are completely black and white, whether that be in classifying who can and can’t say or do certain things or what can and can’t be liked or what is good and what is bad.
I have personally suffered at the hands of thinking that way. It’s no way to live. We as people and the world around us is not polarized. We exist in a world of varying shades of grey.
In order to find my happiness I needed to realize that I needed to stop trying to live up to he morally pure standards of others. By trying to abide by everyone else’s rules and standards all the time and leaving myself no room for a middle ground I made myself miserable.
Everyone in the world has their own unique set of experiences and thoughts that allow them to see things differently from anybody else. This is an important part of humanity. Just because someone sees something that I think is awful as not all bad it doesn’t mean they are bad. Often times if you hear them out you might be able to understand why yourself.
In the end, the only person you have power over is yourself, so while it’s entirely fair to be upset and hurt by he actions of others, remember to indulge yourself in the freedom of that autonomy. Live, think, and be for your own sake. The disapproval of others may not go away but the self resentment and some of that anger might. Then you can start finding some peace.
That’s my take anyways
It's hard to see the progress I've made and to be proud of myself when it seems like no one else is.
If you openly talk about how much sex you have, you’re probably a virgin or don’t have sex very often. Just an observation.
