Have you really liked canon pairings with Nefarious, but perhaps want to give him a partner a little more fitted to your liking?
OC romance with Nefarious is a wonderful opportunity! Each OC is unique in their own way, and that gives so much opportunity to explore how Nefarious interacts with characters outside of canon. Pairing Nefarious with an OC gives you access to a heckton of tropes, possibly more than some canon ships can have. It’s a pairing of your own creation, and it’s lovely in the way you’ve given love to Nefarious using a character outside of canon! :D
