"Or what? I can snap you in half!" Kate went into a laughing fit at Star's reaction. Priceless. 

"You know why I'm this thin," she was whispering now. "You sent in your little 'application' to what's-his-face?"

"One, his name is Fang; I'm pretty sure he'll kill you if you call him that. Two, yes I did; you were standing right next to me I hit 'enter'." Star's mouth opened to talk, "and no, he hasn't replied yet. I'll tell you again: He's contacting everyone on Tuesday. TUES-DAY." 

Kate really didn't know what to tell her parents if she left to join Fang's little group. Her father wouldn't show emotion - as per usual - and her mother would know there was no convincing her otherwise. With a boring family and zero social life (other than Star) she really needed an adventure. Soon.
