Berkeley Protest Part 3
No fee increase! UCB students Occupy Wheeler Hall!
The University of California Board of Regents is proposing a huge fee increase, even though Governor Jerry Brown and Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom say the increase is unnecessary.
Over 100 students have occupied Wheeler Hall in Berkeley to protest the rate hike.
At a conservative estimate, this increase in fees results in an increase in about $10,000 in student debt per student, which is a decrease of about $40,000 in each student's own personal money over their lifetimes.
Don't let the Regents replace public money (available from the state of California) with the future comfort and economic health of its students. Support the strikers in any way you can!
