My friend made me an Occlupanid shirt and tbh I have nothing quite so beautiful and special in my closet
my paper on occlupanology has officially been published by HORG! i’m extremely excited as i absolutely love this hobby and have been wanting to contribute to the study of it since i got into it in late january :-)
in it, i define some new terms for occlupanid morphology as well as expand upon some already existing ones, and establish a standard orientation for display!
HORG will be updating their website with some of my findings soon apparently which is super exciting!
check it out here on the HORG website!
Japanese bread clip haul photos time!!!!!
Starting off we have this variety pack, they came in little clear containers all mixed, but I sorted them and stacked them real good....
Then we have these cute ones with the short tails, they have such cute designs on them! I love the little occlupanids with eyes, they seem to use them lots as characters in their marketing materials.
We also have some with longer tails!! These have the vibe of little party favour occlupanids, a small baggie of sweets or something given to your guests at the end of a function, so cute!
And an interesting little oddity that isn't really a bread clip but rather a paperclip, in the shape of a bread clip! I love these so much! The right one is how they came packaged. I got two sets :) I wish they came in larger amounts so I could use them more....
Additional close ups of the packaging photos below the cut!
Just started collecting occlupanids a few weeks ago! My collection has quite a few color morphs of palpatophora glyphodorsalis, and specimens across 4 different families!

i updated my inprnt with recent paintings and quilts i’ve made! lots and lots of niche collections including plankton, star sand, crinoid fossils and bread clips :) everyone on tumblr has been so generous in their support of my art - I am waiting to hear back about an artists residency opportunity I’ve applied for taking place this winter as well as some additional shows, and your support from my loose studio sale has allowed me to deal with application fees so thank you!!
hello occlupanid tumblr if you exist i have a question
are bread ties a different class? they would likely have fewer species and families given the lack of variation in bread ties.
