theyre the single most autistic guy you could ever meet. undiagnosed but we all know. definitely struggles a LOT with communication but!!! they're finally getting a chance to work on it, really really loves learning through mirroring people. and i just think that's very sweet [: also has a number of burn scars, most prominent being on their right cheek and left lower back, which has impacted their movement a little bit, and is a source of chronic pain/discomfort for them, which can sometimes be debilitating if the wounds aren't cared for properly after a long day of being active - which is something they often forget!!! unfortunately!!! but they're figuring it out one day at a time.

i couldn't tell you any of these but i will try to summarise them in a few words: weird long gangly freak who eats inedible substances to feel alive. so i think all of that should get their. everything. across very easily.

yes. logically emotional or emotionally logical. idk. one of the two!!!! like they do so often try to think and act in Facts and Reason - almost managed to get this nailed down a few times, the one issue is that they're still human, and their whole Deal is that they're kind of. pushed forward in every single decision they've ever made by Fear. they refuse to acknowledge this. which is really funny actually because fear is the one thing that's kept them alive so far, and also got them out of a deadend fuckass job and exploring everything space has to offer. so it's sort of working out for them? in a VERY backwards kind of way.

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?

sledge is a freak with sleep, used to fall asleep very quickly and be a brick for 4-5 hours a night and they wake up alarmingly refreshed and ready to take on the day. this lasted for a good few years, but then the nightmares started, and now sleep is much more inconsistent. they're a very light sleeper now, and can't sleep in the dark, or alone, or with their back to an open space. so many things need to be perfectly aligned for them to have anything close to a decent night's sleep, and they're lucky if they get even 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep. will that get better anytime soon??? ohhh absolutely not everything is gonna get so much worse first. heart

sledge is first and foremost a little freak. above all else. so any activity that allows them to be a little freak in peace is Perfect. I couldn't exactly list three things because. again like i said they're a freak, and up until very recently in their life, they never had much time for hobbies - so they can be caught either building some sort of insane little contraption out of whatever scrap materials they have in their pockets [they can and will use absolutely anything to make A Contraption] [they'll find a use for said thing well after it's been created] OR doing experiments with their prized possession - a little tub of purple powder. what Is the purple powder?? don't worry about it [shouldn't be ingested under any circumstances]

rats probably. being something of a rat themself. they also reaallly really really really love bugs. if they could work with bugs for the rest of forever they would. but unfortunately! like is not kind to them. they will not get to experience joy in any way that matters. ANYWAY! yeah rats and bugs. heart

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

they're too much of a brick, like, emotionally. there's not much going on in there. as in like, they DO feel so much. they just can't express it in any way whatsoever mostly thanks to how they were raised - which is very frustrating for them, and they can't really explain this to anyone, which makes it worse. so they come off as very cold and uncaring and calculating, which IS true in certain circumstances - but again it's very hard to tell when that is. and they can't explain. so it's like a neverending hell spiral.

very obsessive with their work, will disappear for hours if not days at a time, completely isolated from anyone and anything - almost like a self-inflicted solitary confinement. they've done this countless times and are as of right now Very Unaware of the uuuh. damage. it has caused. they look like a sickly little corpse and have great trouble communicating normally after these obsessive bouts, which can be. a little unnerving!! and again because they look so sickly and also They're Tall it's kind of. startling to see. like some sort of frankenstein's monster if he were a twink and also blonde.

they're a man of VERY few words at the best of times - it really is like talking to a genie with them sometimes. and they do this on purpose. they're going to answer EXACTLY what you asked and give no more information, you essentially have to pry it from them while feeling like you're about to be dropped into the gaping maw of some beast never to see the light of day again at any given moment. crediting that vibe to the generally distant stare they have at all times, like they're looking through you. unblinking too. it's uncomfortable for everyone involved including themself. defence mechanism to make sure No One Talks To Them. and it worked for a while!!! but now they're not at their fuckass job anymore. so. they sort of have to become normal. at some point. eventually.

🥪 SANDWICH — what does your oc's typical lunch look like? do they usually eat lunch?

well!!! they used to work for a very shady corporation, and generally ate like. nutritionally complete slop. basically. nothing that sparked any sort of joy, didn't taste or feel any particular way. but now that they 'left' [they're on the run. it's fine] they can finally experience Real Human Food. once they learn how to make more than just like, a really dry really sad ham sandwich. luckily the guy they're travelling through space with can make REALLY good food. and sledge will eat literally anything he makes [ @ruvviks ' royce. btw. see him here]. always used to be 50/50 on whether they'd have any meal at all on a given day but now they are eating so good for Every Single Meal. and it's exactly what they needed on their journey to become Normal.

YES! but absolutely not anything you'd expect - sledge is mostly experienced with knives, scalpels, basically anything sharp that can be used to attack. very limited experience with pistols specifically, and thats about as far as their weapons experience goes. the rest of it is hand to hand combat - something they're also not very good at. sledge is like a stick bug, they can be blown over by a strong gust of wind. they are however VERY fast and move unpredictably so you'd be very lucky to land a hit on them anywhere that matters

they know cpr and how to very quickly stop bleeding and stitch up a wound, can diagnose you with any disease just by staring at you long enough. wouldn't trust them to do surgery or do any proper wound care - their method is just Close It Fast And Get On With It. which isn't really practical for most people. they've done Multiple autopsies on many different animals. and people. but again that's not very reassuring in any way. since they're a bit of a freak. but we don't worry about that

they don't have secrets - not in the traditional sense at least. sledge is an open book, but it's also like talking to a genie getting information out of him. he will give yu a highly specific response to your question, but at the same time it'll be so vague that you don't learn anything. you need to keep asking questions to get even a fraction of a full story out of them. so yeah they've got secrets. they've got things they've never told anyone - but they haven't sworn to do that, it's just that no one has stringed the correct words together to get that out of them.

ok this is a really fun question because their mystery purple powder they carry with them everywhere is a sort of preservative, but for wounds. you apply it, and the bleeding will stop, but you'll also still have a big open wound that will never heal. it's completely sealed, but still visible. and working in such a volatile lab environment where anything could go wrong at any moment, this was the single most effective solution to any and all injuries - mostly chemical burns - to prevent them digging deeper into the skin and causing more damage. and because of this, they do have a lot of physical wounds - burn scars mostly - that will never heal at all because of the powder.

calling them delusional definitely does it. they're so focused on facts and the finest details. they're not a liar, and even just implying it will make them want to beat you to death with whatever tools they have available. not that they Would do it. but they can. and have done it before. it's fine. you will definitely get the silent treatment about it now though. it took sledge YEARS to get to where they are now, they didn't make it there through pure bullshit. they put in the effort. and calling them a liar would make them feel like you're undermining all of their years of work and whole livelihood. which is a normal reaction to have of course.

the corporation he used to work for, for ruining his life, promoting him to a role he didn't want, and then almost getting him killed in one of the most brutal ways he could possibly imagine. he was nothing but loyal to them, and this is all he ever got in return. it was like a wake up call for sledge - made him realise he's just another cog in the machine, that he wasn't much of anything at all outside of that. and he can do so much better now. AND get revenge.

they've lost a lot over the years - don't have much in the way of personal items anymore. it's all just trinkets and work supplies, along with the chemicals they've been working on. pretty unique blend and composition, always in a little pot in his pocket, on him at all times. his magnum opus. if he lost that he'd be almost inconsolable. thats HIS and his alone. he's put YEARS into it. yearss. they can't risk losing that now or they'd actually very much lose their whole mind. again it's ok they're literally fine.

no one really - not that they can remember, at least. always stuck to themself, would only interact and work with others when necessary, any relationship beyond acquaintances was never an option, never his top priority. it doesn't hurt, but there's also a huge gaping wound where his heart should be begging for someone to fix it. but they're fine.
