Alayne royce targaryen has two posts to her name and she has bewitched me and stolen my heart. Do you have any fun headcanons to share?
OMG, I'm so happy I saw your message 🥰💖
I love that someone likes Alayne as much as I do! I don't know if this is funny, but I hope you like it (I have more serious/sad headcanons if you're interested)
When she was little, Alayne used to get into trouble because she would run away from her nannies to go looking for Caraxes. Rhea and Daemon argued a lot about it.
For a while, she was one of Rhaenyra's ladies-in-waiting. When her cousin bothered her, Alayne would tear one of her dresses or lose some of her jewelry on purpose… Understandably, Rhaenyra wanted to get rid of her, but Viserys wouldn't allow it. In the end, Alayne herself left King's Landing after marrying Gwayne.
I truly believe that Alayne and Gwayne started courting just to irritate their parents, but later they genuinely began to enjoy each other's company and care for one another.
Alayne marries Gwayne without Daemon and Rhea's permission. Instead, she goes to Viserys and convinces him to approve and announce the engagement (perhaps she lied and said she was pregnant to gain his approval, but who cares?).
When Alayne brings Gwayne to Runestone, she has to rescue him after Rhea deliberately "lost" him on a hunt.
Alayne considers having a septon built so Gwayne can continue practicing the Faith of the Seven. Rhea isn't happy about this, so Alayne doesn't proceed until after Rhea's death.
For a moment, Alayne considers naming her firstborn son Otto, just to spite Daemon and gain Otto's approval. Luckily, Gwayne convinces her not to (it didn't take much effort; Alayne didn't really like the name).
Later, Alayne considers naming one of her daughters Visenya simply out of spite and a desire to steal Rhaenyra's name. But since she doesn't like the name either, she ultimately decides against it. (Much to Ormund's relief)
When Alayne first goes to Oldtown with Gwayne, she immediately senses the strange vibe between him and Ormund.
I think one night the three of them are alone, drinking wine, and Alayne directly confronts Ormund: "Do you want to fuck my husband?" Gwayne is horrified. Ormund is offended (because of internalized homophobia). But after more arguments, where Alayne gets them to admit their past, and more wine, things happen. In the end, they extend their visit.
I need you to understand that Gwayne is the glue holding Ormund and Alayne together. Take away their husband, and they both become unbearable lol.
One of the arguments between Ormund and Alayne is about the children's religion. Alayne gets extremely upset because, "You're not their father, so you have no say in this matter. I'm the one who gave birth to them, so leave my children and their religion alone."
Alayne may complain about Ormund and argue with him, but even so, when Daemon asks why Ormund is with her and Gwayne at a family event, Alayne always defends him.
Alayne almost gave Daemon, Gwayne, and Ormund a heart attack when she claimed Silverwing (she didn't do it on purpose; she just wanted to prevent one of her children from being burned alive lol). Rhaenyra was annoyed because she overshadowed the birth of Aegon the Younger.
Alayne has a lot of fun scaring Ormund with Silverwing.
Think about how it's normal for Ormund and Alayne to feel jealous and possessive of Gwayne, but not of each other. So imagine how surprised and upset Ormund is when he realizes he feels possessive of Alayne. He doesn't like seeing her near Hugh the Hammer (plus, he feels somewhat paranoid seeing how affectionate Silverwing and Vermithor are with each other; he doesn't like dragons and doesn't understand the bond between riders and their dragons, so he fears Alayne will fall into the clutches of her Targaryen blood). The funniest thing is that Ormund doesn't realize it until Gwayne points it out 😭
“He’s a bastard. We can’t trust him. I don’t understand how you let your wife be near him.”
“There are always guards around them. I don’t know what else you want us to do.”
“We have to keep those beasts away. I don’t want that bastard to think that just because their dragons like each other, he can have Alayne.”
“Ormund, he’s married. He literally agreed to join us to keep his wife safe.”
“You think a wife is going to stop him from going after Alayne?”
Modern Alayne often buys Gwayne flowers because "pretty boys deserve flowers too," and also because she loves him, of course.
At first, Ormund makes fun of Gwayne, but it's just that the idiot is jealous because he can't give his cousin flowers without anyone thinking he's weird. Eventually, he stops making fun of him. And then the day comes when Alayne gives him flowers without much ceremony and without saying anything special, but Ormund is still overjoyed and super cocky. Alayne is like, "Shut up, don't make a big deal out of it." Now Ormund always expects his flowers and is offended when Alayne only brings flowers to Gwayne.
au: Instead of choosing Lady Alicent Hightower as his second wife Viserys Targaryen marries Corlys Velaryon's youngest daughter.

Most of the time, Adera thinks Helaena hates her.
Helaena cries all the time, and every time Adera tries to comfort her by rocking her in her arms, she seems to get worse. She's nothing like Aegon, who seems happy just to see her and loves being in her arms while she sings to him or tells him a story. But Adera doesn't blame Helaena for not wanting her touch, nor does she blame her for hating her.
After all, she hated her first.
Adera planned to go fight with her family at the Stepstones but Viserys had to get her pregnant again. She hated him and the baby inside her. She couldn't drink the moon tea, but she tried to get rid of the baby anyway. She pretended to stumble as she went down the stairs and tumbled down them until a royal guard finally broke her fall. She was immediately taken to the maester and burst into tears when he assured her the baby was fine. Everyone thought they were tears of relief, but all she wanted to do was scream.
She spent most of her pregnancy hating the baby, but one day while playing with Aegon and his toy dragons, she wondered if their new son would be as cheerful as he was. And from then on, she began to wonder about that baby's future. Sometimes she dreamed of a boy who looked just like Viserys but who loved swimming with her. Other times she dreamed of a happy baby who had her features, her purple eyes, and her dark hair, all her, none of Viserys, and who loved flying with her on Nightwing. She liked those dreams better.
Then Helaena was born. And she was all Viserys. But the problem wasn't that she resembled the man Adera hated so much, but that Helaena rejected her. It pained her not to be able to bond with her own daughter, and she was tired of the situation. She tried not to take it personally because the baby didn't seem to want to be in the arms of Viserys or his ladies-in-waiting, but it was still driving her crazy.
Adera couldn't leave King's Landing but at least she could ride her dragon for a couple of hours and get away from her daughter's crying. Or at least that was her idea until her mother entered her chambers and found her preparing to leave while the handmaidens tried to calm Helaena.
"Why aren't you taking her with you?" Rhaenys asked, and Adera instantly tensed.
Because she hates me and doesn't want to be around me, Adera thought, but she wasn't about to confess that to her mother with the handmaidens present.
“Aegon likes flying with you, perhaps she does too,” Rhaenys insisted, and Adera ended up agreeing only because she didn’t want people to think she had any preference between her children.
Adera thought Helaena's crying would get worse when her mother helped her strap the baby to her body, but the moment they wrapped her in the cloth, Helaena seemed to calm down. She didn't seem to want to wriggle or move away like she did when they used her usual blanket. Adera expected the crying to start again when they were in the carriage, but the entire ride to Dragon's Pit, the baby was calm, looking curiously at her new surroundings. Helaena also didn't cry when she introduced her to Nightwing.
As Nightwing soared through the sky, Adera watched her daughter's face closely, ready to try to calm any fear or crying. But Helaena wasn't scared; she was happy to be in the skies, and she was smiling. Adera felt the weight on her shoulders ease at the sight of her daughter smiling for the first time, and she instantly smiled back.
"I love you, Helaena," she felt the need to say to her, hoping she would understand and forgive her for those months of hating her when she was in her belly. "Please smile more. I promise to bring you to fly with me more often." She kissed her forehead and felt her heart warm at the sound of happy babble.
Helaena didn't hate her. And they would both be fine.

Adera is running out of excuses to explain why she's been kissing and fucking Larys lately.
The first time Larys and Adera fuck, Alicent is there. Adera was angry and perhaps a little drunk, her ego still bruised from Harwin's infidelity, and she felt appreciated again after hearing Alicent and Larys speak highly of her while they rant at Harwin and Rhaenyra.
The second time it happens, they're alone. Again, Adera was angry and had been drinking because she couldn't believe Viserys would dare to hold a celebration for the birth of Rhaenyra and Harwin's bastard. Adera couldn't stand it and left before the celebration, and Larys didn't take long to come looking for her. Alicent, being the queen, couldn't make such an easy excuse, so she couldn't accompany them. It's a secret between the two of them, but neither of them misses her; they're too busy to think about other people.
The third time, they're also alone. Adera is no longer drunk or angry, they are simply in Larys' chambers talking about the new book of flowers he got when he shows her one of the illustrations she gets distracted by his hands, remembering how good his fingers felt inside her the last time, and ends up kissing him against his desk wanting to feel him again.
They fuck twice more before Alicent joins them again. But it's Larys who brings Adera to orgasm using only his fingers. She doesn't want Alicent to notice that her moans get louder when he touches her, so she distracts her by eating her cunt while Larys continues to make her tremble.
The seventh time, it's just them. Larys and Adera are having their weekly tea meeting when he tells her that she feels tense and offers to give her a massage. Of course, it ends up being more than a massage. But Adera likes it, she likes how he kisses her lips and her body, how he touches her without any kind of fear or nervousness—like Alicent or too soft like Harwin—, how he uses his mouth to leave marks on her body, how he doesn't worry that she also leaves her own marks on his skin—unlike Alicent—, how he seems to know perfectly well when she needs control and to be on top of him and when she needs him to take the reins and make her forget about the rest of the world.
The eighth time, they're also alone. Adera goes to his chambers with the terrible excuse that she can't sleep and needs to burn off energy, but it's too late for her to go out and train with her sword. Larys simply laughs before cupping her face and kissing her as he guides her to the bed as if it were the most natural thing in the world, making her feel warm but at the same time scared by how something that was supposed to be a one-time thing has become a regular occurrence, something she wants.
"If we're going to keep doing this, you can't be with anyone else," she said, breaking off the kiss.
Larys laughed again but it was a different laugh than before, there was no happiness there, it was more of a dry laugh. “You don’t have to worry about that, no one is going to compete with you for a clubfoot,” he said while giving kisses along Adera’s neck.
“You’re more than a clubfoot,” she said, grabbing him by the back of his neck and making him look at her. “You’re very handsome,” she smiled, caressing his face with her other hand. Larys would be lying if he said he didn’t feel anything at her sweetness. “Smart,” she meant it, not just to boost his ego because now they’re both fucking. “You’re a very good listener and also…”
Larys kissed her because he couldn't stand her talking sweetly about him anymore, her shining eyes on him. All his life, he'd endured mockery, and looks of pity or disgust. He'd grown accustomed to being an outcast among people, so he didn't know what to do with all the warmth Adera gave him.
This time it wasn't a long kiss; Adera struggled to separate her lips from his. She wanted to keep kissing him, to lose herself in his kisses, and for the night to end with their bodies intertwined, but first, she needed to clear the air between them. But before she could speak, he surprised her.
“You don’t have to worry about someone else stealing my attention, my lady,” he said, as if he knew exactly what was bothering her. “I have eyes only for you,” he declared.
Adera’s heart raced, not only at Larys’s words but at the way he looked at her. In his blue eyes, she could see lust and desire, but there was also something more. She wouldn’t say it was love; it was too soon to say that, but what she saw in his eyes made her feel secure. Larys wasn’t lying.
Taglist for "the sea-dragon, the clubfoot and the green queen"
Thinking of little Jacaerys apologizing to his aunt because he knows everyone at court talks about him and how much he looks like Harwin. LIKE MY BABY IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S RHANEYRA AND HARWIN'S FAULT.
Larys Strong x OC (+ Alicent Hightower x OC), Past Harwin Strong x OC, Unrequited Rhaenyra Targaryen x OC, Daemon Targaryen x OC
Summary: The birth of Jacaerys Velaryon opens Adera Velaryon's eyes to her husband Harwin Strong's affair with her cousin Rhaenyra Targaryen. The birth of the prince not only causes Harwin to lose the love of his wife and Princess Rhaenyra to lose an important ally, but also causes a change in Adera's relationships with Larys Strong and Queen Alicent Hightower.
Warning: At first, it may seem like there's no difference from the original version, but there are some major changes (sorry to my Alicent girls). I'm not even sure I'd call what these three have a polyamorous relationship, but if it were, then I want to make it clear that it's not a healthy one.
