Aeri Hino is the only daughter of Renjiro Kuchiki and Kaede Hino. Born from a union frowned upon by a large part of the Kuchiki family, she comes into the world a few months after the mysterious assassination of her father, a murder quickly covered up by the clan. Stripped of all protection, her mother Kaede is sent back with her to the districts of the Rukongai, marking Aeri’s first major injustice at the hands of the Kuchiki.

Kaede becomes the true emotional core of her daughter’s life. She often reads to her and introduces her to the world of books. Whether to soothe her sadness, comfort her when she is ill, or answer her questions about her father, stories are always there. After Kaede’s death, books become an almost vital obsession for Aeri — the last tangible link to her mother.

At the Academy, Aeri stands out with exceptional talent and remarkable intelligence. Yet she carries a deep-seated complex: she feels compelled to be the best in order to honor the Hino name while fiercely refusing to acknowledge the Kuchiki name, creating a painful and permanent contradiction within her.

Her mother’s death marks a brutal turning point. While Aeri is away on a training mission, a fire devastates their district. She arrives too late and finds only the ruins of their home. This tragedy makes her secretly despise the Seireitei for the first time: she had been busy saving strangers while the only person who truly mattered to her died alone.

Byakuya’s grandfather eventually intervenes. He does not adopt her out of pity, but because he recognizes in her the same fierce determination as his son Renjiro. He decides that she is a Kuchiki, whether she wants it or not. Aeri, however, refuses to change her name. She remains Hino to the end, because abandoning that name would mean betraying her mother.

Her relationship with Byakuya is tense, marked by wounded pride and constant provocations. Byakuya sees her as someone who scorns a privilege she doesn’t truly understand, while Aeri reproaches him for defending a system that abandoned her mother. Both are stubborn, proud, and hurt, yet they silently protect each other without ever admitting it.

Unohana quickly notices her sharp intelligence, her keen sense of observation, and her ability to anticipate people’s reactions. She becomes almost a second maternal figure for Aeri, which will make the future events even more painful.

Aino Ichimaru ( 愛野市丸) is a female Shinigami who is the younger sister of Gin Ichimaru .

Appearance

Aino is a girl with light blue eyes, white hair that is loose at the waist and slightly braided back then she tied the second part of the side bangs. She wore a variation of the standard Shinigami robes and long hakama, when she was little Aino's hair was short neck. When she was in the human world, she also attended karakura high school wearing the standard karakura school dress but she lengthened the skirt a little past her knees.

Seventeen months after Aizen's defeat, she changed her hairstyle, which was tied back into a ponytail and decorated with a large red ribbon.

Ten years after Yhwach's defeat, she put her hair down again but this time there were no braids adorning the back of her hair.

Personality

She is a calm and smiling girl, friendly to anyone but actually she is a little irritable but she holds her emotions and immediately shuts up and then leaves the other person who has offended her. She also doesn't really like it when someone talks about Aizen and Gin who have betrayed her because it makes her chest feel tight. But even so she still loves her old brother Gin .

Strengths and Abilities

Kido Expert : She can use high-level Kidō consecutively without spells and still maintain considerable control and power .

High Spiritual Strength : Aino is able to approach multiple battles between strong opponents without being overwhelmed.

Shunpo Expert : She skillfully dodges multiple attacks from multiple enemies.

Durability: She is strong enough to withstand attacks from enemies or hollows, which involve physical attacks and the use of Bala.

Zanpakutou

Tsukinome-Hikari (月のメー光 ) meaning Moonlight is an ordinary katana. It has a circular tsuba with a faint crescent-like pattern on the top and on the sides. This sword has a yellowish-blue hilt.

Shikai : Her Shikai command is "glow /kagayaki" (輝き) . Aino held her Zanpakuto beside her left shoulder and when she held it like that, the blade, hilt, and tsuba turned completely yellowish blue. Tsuba becomes shaped like a crescent moon. The transformation was accompanied by a yellow light shining quite brightly on the blade.

Shikai Special Ability: Tsukinome-Hikari is a crystal-type Zanpakutō. Apart from crystal techniques, the general ability of Tsukinome-Hikari freezes . Tsukinome-Hikari can freeze targets from a distance and give a light effect that can hurt the target's eyes before being frozen in the crystal.
