Hey congratulations on the Iris Wildthyme cover and story. I think it looks amazing!! Your art style matches well with the crazy concepts of Iris's world. Can't wait to learn about the Slots of Giza.
Aww thanks! I couldn’t find the episode name listing anywhere - I want to know what the rest of the episodes are called. I only know what they told me to draw ha ha. But yeah! Thank you!
obscenemachine replied to your photoset: Made with Kisekae 2 (nsfw). I’m possibly...
Love it! But how could you forget Mary? :O Shes so great!
I didn't forget - I mention having left her out. Because the dollmaker doesn't have long skirts, and it just didn't feel right putting Mary in trousers or short skirts. Plus the audios picture was already full, and I wanted to include dark!Doctor.
Hey do you know any good links for DS9 episodes? Just started watching saw the pilot n youtube
Eeeeeeeeeee, I am excited you are watching! And that the pilot has not scared you off! It is not the best thing DS9 has ever done. Most people, I tell them, ‘Watch, so you know how it starts, but imagine all of these characters growing in really beautiful ways and decide if that is something you would like to watch!”
Anyway, you have done that part already.
A place to watch them, along with EVERY OTHER STAR TREK EVER, is surprisingly, the official website! Like how fucking exciting is this, I don’t even have to advocate anything illegal! Though the website is a little confusing to navigate in places, and I do recommend installing Adblock Plus (which I recommend no matter what internetting you are doing, because oh my god, changed my internet LIFE) so you don’t have to be assed with as many ads and interruptions.
(My episodes were all downloaded and burned by a friend, I’m afraid. I’m a terrible person. But I have every plan in the world to buy the DVDs, I just bought the soundtrack to DS9, and against better judgement, I am going to a Star Trek con, so I think I will be forgiven by the Star Trek gods.)
I am SO EXCITED you’re going to start watching~
Prepare to be casually enjoying a thing and then get hideously invested without realizing it until you are sobbing at the sound of the theme song~~~
obscenemachine answered your question: Is there a way to get Doctor Who comics without...
A large amount of the DWM comics have been reprinted with colour in recent years from IDW comics. They are collected in trad paper backs
Ooooooh. I wonder if my library has them, then. Thanks!

Okay thanks. I understand where you are coming from better now.
No prob!
I'm glad we got that cleared up.
And thanks for the follow!
About you comment on Huntress being all Kill! which is more like her earlier appearances than her latter appearances. The show runners have left it open that she will more than likely return which will lead to character development and she becoming the Huntress in later comics. I don't thinks its right to just expect her first appearances on Arrow to be the well established character she was before the New 52. Also if there is a Birds ep Felicty Smoak will probably fill the Oracle role.
Well, I did say in my review that there is only so much you can compress into two episodes, and I did also acknowledge that they will bring her back in the future, which leaves room for future development.
You also seem to miss the point of my responses to people about Helena's kill mentality on the show. The show presents people with a very essentialized version of her, and the thing I was trying to get across in my responses about Helena not being all kill! all the time, was to emphasize to people who are not familiar with Helena that she's actually more complicated and nuanced than she was portrayed in those two episodes.
Also, I was not expecting her first appearances to showcase all aspects of her complexity, as it's a very difficult task to balance an ethnic identity, Catholicism, ruthlessness and a tender nurturing side in the sake of space they were allotted. That's a misreading my intentions as well as an inference. It is not however, unreasonable to ask that writers demonstrate Helena's capabilities more, as in the comics, she was one of the best sure shots in the DC Universe and she was also quite a capable fighter. She shouldn't need Oliver to teach her how to use a crossbow, as there are ways to demonstrate how much of a good shot Ollie is while respecting Helena's technical capabilities. It's also not too much to ask that they show some of her other redeemable traits, to balance out her seemingly myopic crusade to bring down her father. Showing her as someone who just thinks about revenge and doesn't care who gets hurt does not present the full picture of her.
(To be fair, we did see bits of it in reference to Helena's fiance and Helena being an informant to the FBI. But the Arrow tie-in comic did a better job of demonstrating how much Helena can be selfless and care for others, particularly her students, better than the show did.)
Overall, I don't think it's unreasonable to demand better writing for a character. It doesn't require you to do a drastic rewrite or take up too much time to show the other side of Helena, nor does it mean you snip out the relevant plot points for that week's episode. It can be done within the specific time frame in a way that's both manageable and allows time for other characters to work out their own storylines.
The Helena Bertinelli who wasn't too cut up over the fact she could have hurt Moira Queen is a deviation from the Helena in the comics, who has demonstrated repeatedly that she does in fact, care about the people who might get hurt by her actions, and she doesn't just shrug it off with a palliative "sorry".
I have hope they'll bring Helena Bertinelli back in the future and maybe redeem themselves by showcasing her more admirable qualities, but for now, I'm going to critique what we have and continue to point out to people that the Bertinelli on the show, is far different from the one in the comics.
