Display Helper: Assist with pulling books and filling in displays. Must be comfortable pulling books from shelves using library call numbers (such as Dewey decimals) Hours: 1 hour per week Day/Time: Thursdays, 7-8pm

Room Straightener: Straighten up the children’s and teen rooms so that they are in beautiful condition for the next day.

Hours: 1 per week

Day/Time: Fridays, 7:30-8:30pm

Back to School Program Helper: Assist children and librarians with a Pigeon back-to-school craft.

Hours: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Day/Time: Monday, August 19 from 6:45-8:15pm

Damaged Book Inspector: Look for damaged books on the shelves.

Skills Needed: Ability to bend and reach, decision making skills and attention to detail.

Hours: 1 per week

Day/Time: Volunteer’s choice.

Math Program Helper: Help with a fun and interactive 8 week kids math program (no special math skills required).

Hours: 1.5 hours per week

Day/Time: Fridays, 10:45am-12:15pm. Job runs June 28-August 16 (8 weeks)

Friday Night Program Helper: Assist librarians with various Friday Night programming (Sensory Playtimes, Storytimes, etc.)

Skills Needed: Must be comfortable working directly with children and interacting with them during the programs.

Hours: 3 per week

Day/Time: Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30pm

Teen Tech Buddies: You will be working with older adults to help them with technology related questions or issues.

Skills Needed: Comfort with a variety of tech devices and programs, patience, the ability to explain concepts.

Hours: 2 per week

Day/Time: Saturdays 11am-1pm

  Second Saturday Volunteer: You will help set up/prep and give out refreshments for our monthly Second Saturday events. Takes place the second Saturday of every month, see events calendar for exact dates.

Hours: 2 per month

Day/Time: Second Saturday of every month, 2:30-4:30pm.

Finch Robot Helper: Assist librarians and children ages 7-10 while they use our Finch robots during a 1 day workshop.

Summer Reading Kickoff Helper: Help out with crafts and activities, plus setup and cleanup, at the library’s Summer Reading Kickoff party.

Trivia Night Program Assistant: Help the Adult Services librarians run a trivia night program.

  Stuffed Animal Check-up Program Assistant: Help librarians and work with children during a special stuffed animal program

  Miss Jen’s Lab Program Assistant: Monitor children as they explore hands-on activities and provide assistance to them as needed, such as help reading directions or using scissors. Also, help to clean up when the program is done.

Skills Needed: Must be comfortable working directly with children and interacting with them during the program.

Hours: 1.5 hours per month

Day/Time: Hours will be one Monday each month from 4pm–5:30pm. We will give you a list of dates. Job will begin on Monday May 20th.

  Kids Dance Program Helper: Help run a fun monthly kids dance party program (you’ll be assisting the librarian– you don’t have to dance!)

Skills Needed: Affinity for working with children.

LEGO Lab Helper: Supervise a weekly LEGO club for children: set up, supervise and assist the children building if needed, clean up.

  Shelf Reader: Maintain the order and appearance of the Teen and Children’s sections.

Skills Needed: Ability to squat and reach, attention to detail and an interest in helping maintain the appearance of the rooms.

Stuffed Animal Storytime Helper: Help at a stuffed animal sleepover program for kids by organizing and taking pictures of their toys in the library.
