Sue Masanori is a 44-year-old maker of Ōborisōma ware, a ceramic style from the Ōbori area of the town of Namie in Fukushima Prefecture. Ōborisōma dates back centuries to the early Edo period and is designated a Traditional Craft Product by the Japanese government. Sue was forced to relocate his pottery Suetoku from Namie to Tamura in the city of Kōriyama, about 60 kilometers inland, following the 2011 disasters at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Sue remains hopeful that he will someday be able to return to his original kiln in Namie
