To be honest I was thinking of the kind of fics where they’re trading innuendos all the time, but when it’s just a slip of the tongue or an accident now that is just plain hilarious.

Well...ish. The sword Ryunnosuke ends up with in DGS is a demon-slaying blade called Karuma. So I kinda ran with it and had a loose hc that Phoenix has demon blood somewhere in his bloodline, but it only manifests in his eyes and his ridiculous survival ability (nobody can eat glass and not end up in hospital :| ). I generally hc that Phoenix sees dark blue, but I once suggested he saw green for the lulz.

I’ve never played/watched DGS through, so I don't really know much about it other than the bare basics, but that sounds really cool.

Also, demon blood Phoenix. Sign me up.

YEAHHH. The whole ‘how is he still alive how did he eat glass’ is what helped me to go wild with the whole ‘he is an actual real phoenix and he’s just really really aptly named’ thing in some of my AUs.

I can't get behind heterochromatic Phoenix either, altho my hc is that his colour is viewer dependent based on his relationship with them (so miles sees bright blue, Apollo saw brown-blue, Manfred saw black)

gs5 came out and i laughed abt the pre-release advertisement bait and switch because it really was a game about athena. but phoenix was still playable last case.

on the whole so far, this game is definitely an improvement over gs5. it’s not nearly as ANVIL ANVIL ANVIL as gs5, which wouldn’t stop yelling about ends and means and DARK AGES, for one. for two, i feel like they’ve done a pretty good job at dealing with phoenix’s reception in khura’in, and having him ACTUALLY SUFFER A GUILTY VERDICT for it to be overturned not by a miracle, but by an even worse outcome is definitely illustrating that his life is in real danger if he fucks this up.

also, while i’m definitely not as interested in the khura’in side myself (i love my WAA children too much), khura’in has definitely not been 100% bad in my book, and i’m enjoying the little bits of world building they’re giving, both for khura’in itself, and for the village of kurain and the fey family
