Arm fluttering, we know it so much.

Arm fluttering, as described by the BFDIA wiki, is used for “emphasis or to express extreme excitement, panic and/or anger.” Though I’d believe the behaviour originally was for emphasis and quickly evolved into expression of those three emotions, as well these emotions are all about emphasising something.

You’d want to emphasise your extreme positivity or feeling of danger or annoyance to communicate with your community. But, these emotions build up tension in the body and you’d want to exercise that out, so waving your arms erratically would relax you. That’s two ways of going about it!

Much like stacking, this behaviour is complex and is NOT what Pillow says. Look, as much as I love her character, she is not a reliable narrator and that is very clear in the episode (BFB 1: Getting Teardrop to Talk)) as it goes against what Teadrop is trying to communicate.

It’s strange however that all this confusion over Teardrop fluttering her arms happens at all. This behaviour is universal across objects, it has to be a natural behaviour, and we’ve seen objects communicate by arm fluttering and they’ve never had confusion over that.

I’m getting side tracked and I feel like this post will delve into a topic I’m uncomfortable talking about and also am not equipped to talk about it properly.

Okay so uh TPOT 23 introduced to negative numbers as a real thing, but they’re not regular functioning algebraliens. They’re just a ‘zombified’ version of those original algebraliens, this process I will call ‘negation’. Totally not stealing off the wiki.

Negation appears to be an infection that comes from yoylelite but why? We’ve seen algebraliens absorb power from the yoylelite and not be affected. So why does it affect them now?

Well I believe it is down to yoylelite toxicity, not caused by particles from the actual rock but the power itself. It could be that too much power absorbed from the rocks themselves overload an algebralien’s systems and zombifies them in a way.

But why doesn’t One get infected? We’ve seen her absorb a lot of that power, from algebraliens mind you, and she hasn’t been negated. Maybe algebraliens have a varying tolerance to it, perhaps some are more naturally able to process it and handle it in greater quantities.

Besides that it’s probable that yoylelite toxicity only affects integers, y’know the numbers. But we’ve only seen it affect numbers, we don’t know what kind of affect it’d have on other species of Algebralien like exponents. We don’t even know if non-algebraliens can suffer from the same thing.

But what I can gleam is that too much power from yoylelite leads to a burden on the nervous system that ends up with a zombie like state on affected numbers. And this power overload will also affect other numbers if hit by a zap from a negated individual.

No object is treated equally with size. I’d say that’s a pretty apt statement. Objects in their ‘standard’ size already vary in height significantly, I mean just look at Golfball and Tennis Ball. Yeah.

But what is the size limit to that? Well it’s hard to really say, for the most extreme in size can extend to cosmic levels of scalingy. Take for example, Black Hole.

And yeah this a blog about BH’s anatomy, I’m railroading things now because this has always been the case.

Anyways, let’s learn about Black Hole?

How big the black hole?

According to its biography on BFDI’s Official Character Guide, he is 20 solar masses. That gives him a Schwarzschild Radius of 59.08 km (36.71 miles). That’s ~1,397 blue whales if they were at their max length of 30.5 m. That’s a lot of whales.

Keep in mind this is Black Hole BEFORE he’s crushed down to an “infinitely smaller size” by Four.

Why did BH’s species get so big?

Assuming its ancestors had evolved to live in space (or were early offshoots of ancestors to all objects*), they simply evolved to get so big to avoid predation. And when your environment is literal space, there isn’t much limit on how much you can grow…besides the square cube law but ehhh.

As they gotten bigger the instability of their structure grew stronger. It would eventually reach a point where their bodies would collapse into a black hole itself due to all that mass. A cheap trick to avoid such a dead end was by abusing their organspace to heck and back, fitting in all systems in there.

Which gives a perfect segue to…

Basically all of Black Hole externally is just that, a Black Hole. But at its centre is his singularity, the ‘core’ of his being. There it basically is the storage of all those organic systems tucked into organspace. That’s how he can talk and see and hear, although probably not well since his species is hard of hearing.

It actually does make sense as sound is hard to even hear, if at all, in space due to a lack of a medium, such as air, for sound to travel through. Black Hole’s ear would be heavily reduced and only is developed enough to hear other words being said.

His digestive system is probably hypotrophied in comparison to make up all that matter Black Holes love to consume. All to break down and yep yummy!

If I remember correctly, you've covered how you think Puffball, Lightning, and Cloudy fly, but how do you think they move?

They don't have visible wings. The only person with limbs is Lightning, but it's unlikely that he uses them to move. All three can fly upwards with no problem during a somewhat windy day in TPOT 1.

So Lightning is the easiest one to explain. Because of his constant electrical charge, he can use it to induce a magnetic field around himself to counteract the pull of gravity. Now I explained that’s how he can suspend himself in the air, but there’s no other need for an additional mechanism. All he’s gotta do is move in one direction by manipulating his magnetic field to push or pull him.

As for Puffball and Cloudy, the best I can come up with right now is by using holes in their own surface and then forcing out air like a jet, thus creating a pushing force. These holes have to be all around the body.
