Alternate Names: Mud Spirit, Mudman
Mythology: Dorotabo is a Japanese Yokai, Obambo comes from Central African Mythology
Size: Come in all sizes, mostly Medium and Large
Environment: Jungle, swamp, farmlands, anywhere mud is, Obambo are always appearing in jungles
In Mythika: The fourth and final undead, dark elementals, the Dorotabo is a horrifying mud horror that unlike its cousins only holds a single vengeful soul. Most Dorotabo are created from farmers who drowned in their own mud or victims of quicksand. Of all the Dark Elementals the Dorotabo is the weakest and least impressive, they are often called Mudmen and appear in mud puddles out in the swamps where they create more of their kind by pulling in more victims.
Obambo (second picture) are related to Dorotabo, they are much bigger and instead of being only created from mud they also have vines, roots, branches, clay, dirt and soil in their mass. Obambo are created when a person dies in the jungle and rots away without anyone missing the victim, their soul will merge with the environment and a new Obambo is born, they are extremely vengeful and hate all life as they had nobody while still alive. A single Obambo can destroy an entire primitive jungle village with its power over mud and earth, they use their vine-like arms to strangle the life out of victims and pull and drown them into their muddy masses. Their most gruesome features are their skull-like faces, these are said to be the skulls of the original person that created the Obambo. I can’t find a good picture of the Obambo, but if you remember the old game Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight, there was this mud-man like enemy with a skull face, this is how I want the Obambo to be like in Mythika.
