#nye resolution

Trying out different combos for crisp sandwiches, might make it a new year's resolution to try a bunch. This one is buttered bread, scrambled egg and tayto cheese and onion crisps.

The egg didn't add much to it, it was a bit bulkier and more filling but not a real big addition. I also should have cooked it just a tiny bit more or used a bit less butter because it was still decently wet and that made it fall apart near the end. I seasoned the eggs with salt, pepper and smoked paprika, fried some chili flakes in the butter too.

I don’t make promises I can’t keep and rarely do NYE resolutions, but this past year definitely warrants one or two for the years ahead. I’ve made the habit of neglecting myself—be it health, interests or social life—for the sake my career that I don’t even like and it really bothers me that after nearly 2 weeks of being free from work I’m still as dangerously exhausted as the first day. To anyone else I’d urge them to take care of themselves, that work isn’t everything and rest is important but for some reason I never follow the advice I’d give.

As such my promise is to take better care of myself and putting myself first this year forward; eat better, get more exercise, work less hours, get more sleep, indulge more in my interests, those sort of things. I’ll definitely continue drawing, strive to become a better artist and create more of the things that make me happy.

I don’t think 2019 will be my year, but it’s hopefully going to be the year where I start treating myself better. I hope a lot of you hardworking, wonderful people do the same. You’ve earned it.
