☆ Nyarlahotep // Haiyore! Nyaruko-san F ☆ 1/6 / MAGI ARTS ☆ January 2027 ¥19,800
Making Nyarlathotep's adaptation as a "meme god" is SO in character.
A cosmic horror, who embodies the chaos itself ("the crawling chaos") and is relatively amicable to & interested in human beings, having a knack for actively creating & partaking in memes makes so much sense.
Since memes, in nature, are very chaotic & deeply reflect the human culture with high temporal resolution (or simply, it is very time sensitive).

I still find the idea of eldritch beings taking the form of adorable character an interesting take to be honest...
For those who regularly watch anime or read manga/light novels something like Haiyore! Nyaruko-san is pretty boring or mild. From what I have gathered most people who are clicked into those interests don't have much to say about Nyaruko other than it is a standard harem anime with more Kamen Riders references then what is usually typical
But western Lovecraft fans who don't watch anime or read manga get absolutely furious at the way that Nyarlathotep is depicted as an earth pop culture obsessed girl who falls in love with a human boy.
Which to me is very funny because Nyarlathotep would totally be an earth or a human weeb. Most of not all of the Outer Gods are pretty indifferent of opinion to humanity and only come down when called but Nyarlathotep seems to take an active interest with people given the fact they were an Egyptian Pharaoh and regularly fuck around in human affairs.
This also isn't the worst or most offensive characterization of a Lovecraft alien and to pretend it is I think is pretty silly and I feel borders on the really weird forced hatred that westerns do with anime
Humbling myself from encounter the abundance of peaks by watching mid (nyaruko)
