Saint Lucy, for those who drink at night, and at night die, and at night read, and fall upon their final measure; for the friends who leave and then return, having lost both their soul and their wings.

For those who live where the winds cross and are burned alive; for the easy people who never doubt; for our crown of stars and thorns, and our fear of the dark and of imagination.

Saint Lucy - the poor man’s violin is a broken boat, and a boy on the second floor who sings and laughs, and sings out of tune so he might travel far. Make even the rain in his shoes gentle for him, even the solitude.
