Ben Ferguson - Rick Grimm’s Illa Turba

What a tiring day! Recently the band has decided to change our rehearsal schedule from what was originally two, two hour rehearsals a week to one, twelve hour rehearsal a fortnight. The thought being that each rehearsal we spend approximately half an hour setting up and packing down gear and a solid 15 mins in breaks for every 45 mins of play time. Mathematically the more hours we put together, the less time we spend setting up and packing down gear. Today was the second session of our new once a fortnight 12 hour rehearsal, and it so far it is proving fruitful. In this rehearsal we have polished our older songs to a quality we think will rival the more prominent bands of Melbourne while also having time to learn new material. Everyone’s endurance has increased while managing to maintain zeal for their instrument. The only issue is that all this time in the studio is costing us a lot in food from the McDonalds around the corner. Next time we’ll have to bring a packed lunch. Two of the new songs we’ve been working on are planned to be revealed at our show with Cryptic Abyss in August. Hope to see you all there!
