Scrum & Hooker Nut Brown makes its grand debut in cans tomorrow! This beer has grown a personality of its own on its journey towards canhood. It started out as a simple, malty brown ale brewed on the pilot system; meant only for a brief but exciting showing in the tap room. The very last drops of this beer found their way into a crowler that was shipped off to the 2018 MD Craft Beer Cup for critique and judgment. It left an impression. Scrum & Hooker took home the Gold Medal for all browns & ambers entered in the competition. Once the style-specific rounds were over, all of the gold medal winners were sent forth into a final sorting of greats: the Best In Show round. Scrum & Hooker performed brilliantly. Of all ~250 beers entered the competition, Scrum & Hooker took third overall. This Bronze Medal for Best In Show is still the single most prestigious award we've earned since opening. After its grand debut at the MD Craft Beer Cup, Scrum & Hooker journeyed into the production realm. A 15 BBL batch was brewed and distributed to a few lucky accounts across the state. Still... The story was not finished. With Nut Brown fans clamoring for more, we decided to give Scrum & Hooker the royal treatment it had long deserved: a proper canning run. And now tomorrow: the crowning achievement for this, our most revered of ales. Scrum & Hooker gets a can release, and we're very excited to share this moment with all of you.
