Today in Med-Surg lab we did cardiac monitoring and EKGs and learning about Code blue and what happens and how nurses play a part in it. Then they decided to run some false codes for fun and got us to act them out. My friend volunteered me to go. I played first responding nurse. It was brutal because none of us had ever done codes before and we all just ended up laughing our way through the code until the instructor said the code team arrived. 

The second group got up to act it out. We got an extra person in the class (my best friend) to play a very upset family member of the patient and another good friend of mine lay in the adjacent bed and played another patient. I have never laughed so much. Priceless.

It's nice to be able to have a good few laughs in lab even though we are learning about serious things and lifesaving measures. I was a huge fan of my nursing class today.
