So I've been watching a lost of Murder, She Wrote while working on adding watch links to my other spreadsheet, and I thought, why not make one for my favorite mystery shows? And once again, it kinda spiraled out of control, lol.

I started adding shows I think of as being in the same genre as Murder, She Wrote (such as other mysteries like Columbo, or shows that I consider to be in the same universe like M*A*S*H), but then I found out about just how many crossovers and spinoffs some of these shows had, so I decided to add them for the sake of being a completist. And then I threw in The Golden Girls cuz they had one murder mystery episode for the fuck of it.

So, this sheet is very similar to the other one, with some exceptions. This list does not have the ability to sort by rating, this is because the shows featured are, by and large, for adults and tend to have more mature ratings, so I didn't see the need to differentiate by rating. The length of the episodes are also not listed, although that may be added eventually.

I'm also trying a new genre system. Instead of just two columns, you can now select multiple options (Legal Drama, Medical Drama, Murder Mystery, Police Procedural, Sitcom, and Other) from a drop down menu. Also, instead of the "franchise' column, I now have a column to specify if a show is "main," "side," or other options.

The "mains" and "sides" are currently just based on my own feelings about the shows, if you make a copy of the sheet, you can change those around as you please. "Main" just means shows that the sheet was made in mind with, and "side" shows are shows that are in the same genre or that are spin offs of other shows that I don't consider as important, but that are still worth including.

There's also the "spin off" option and "pre-spin off" to denote that a show was one that a "main" show spun off from.

I've also included a "fun extras" column for information about crossovers, spin offs, and guest stars.

I do not currently have any of the episodes linked to places where you can watch them, but I will work on doing that for your watching convenience.

As I said, this list is based on my own preferences and if you make your own copy you can add or remove shows at your leisure. However if you think I've neglected a show that you think really show be included, or if you have any corrections about the information on the sheet, please feel free to leave me an ask on this blog :)
