how mc fandom sees Nurbanu x Selim
Vs How the Show actually potrays Nurbanu x Selim
Did a serious pole about which ship is better, twenty people voted, and this is the result:
I wasn't surprised to be honest, nurlim ship was praised in the turkish comments on YouTube.
the funny thing about Nurlim is that they both probably had to go through alcohol withdrawal at the same time
while i have to be annoyed about the show sort of kind of implying that selim and nurbanu grew apart towards the end -- especially because it's show canon on top of historical fact that selim freed and legally married nurbanu after he became sultan; something he did not have to do and is evaluated as a move to display his devotion to nurbanu and his affirmation that his only heir is murad -- i do love the old married couple energy they give off during the final episodes. it sells how long they've worked together and just. how long they've known each other by this point

But really honestly anyone who ships nurlim -- can y'all explain to me why she keeps trying to get him to drink? When it's clearly a horrible idea that's ruining his life? Like even when he swore off it? Am i not getting something? Is it seen as romantic or friendly or normal by you guys, and not... bad?
Nothing just Nurbanu taking her man out not to observe the stars together but for him to observe her as she observes the stars and then listen to her rightfully predict the future. She did have a son, they did remain together, they did "reach the stars" (the sultanate), and the "we will never part" can be a reference to Nurbanu being the first concubine to be buried alongside her sultan.
Also Selim not being such a firm believer in destiny but believing in Nurbanu...
