Wærm™ and the history of ironworms/ Wærm™ agus stair na peisteanna irann
i rith na 2010'di, bhi tuismatoiri de paisti le uathachas ag iarradh fathanna den michuma a lorg a nach raibh géiniteach, o dath bia dearg go dti tecnoliacht, bhi na tuismathoiri ag chuir an locht ar gach rud. mar pairt den iarracht seo, thug an carthanas "autism speaks" 3.5 milluin dollar go dti DerCo IWP chun scrudu a deanamh ar an topic.
during the 2010's, many parents of autistic children began searching for causes of autism that weren't genetic, from food coloring to technology, many researchers of the topic wanted to put the blame on anything and everything. as part of these efforts, the controversial charity "autism speaks" offered 3.5 million US dollars to DerCo IWP to find a cure for autism.
mar pairt den scrudu, bhi a eolai ag irradh uathachas a tabhart go dti moncaí saotharlann le bia lan le miotal trom, trasphlandaigh faecach o paisti uathachach (de gnath gan ainéistéiseach), agus nior lig na eolai na anmhithe ceangail lena cheile go dti gur thosaig siad ag iompair iad fein mar daoine le uathachas. ansin thug na eolai bia lan le ubhecha peist seadánach a bhi géinmhodhnaithe chun miotal trom a ithe, agus conic siad na mioncai a bheith nios cuin. tar eist an scrudu seo bhi siad ag irradh e a thosigh ar daoine.
as a part of their research, the DerCo scientists wanted to make laboratory monkeys autistic in order to test possible treatments on them. they attempted to do this by feeding the monkeys food that was laced with heavy metals, preforming fecal transplants from autistic children (normally without anesthetic), and not allowing them to socialize with other monkeys until they began showing traits of autism. then the scientists began feeding the monkeys food that was full of genetically modified parasitic worms that were designed to consume heavy metals from the animal's blood, immediately after the worms settled the monkeys appeared much quieter, giving the scientists confidence that they would achieve the same results on human subjects.
i 2013 thosigh an brainse leighas daoine de NuaLo ag tabhart amach fograi do tuismathoiri le paisti uathachach faoi a tecnoliacht nua; Wærm™, peist beo a raibh chun a paisti a leighasu. faoi ta pictuir de bróisiúr a thughtear amach go saor i hOspideal, scoilleanna, agus naíonri.
in 2013 the human medicine and research branch of NuaLo began advertising an upcoming medical study to parents of autistic children to test a new groundbreaking technology; Wærm™, a living worm that was going to cure their child of autism. below is a scan of the brochure for the medical study handed out in hospitals and schools.
tar eist a thosigh na paisti an leighas Wærm™, bhi siad nios cuin agus lag, agus cheaptar a tuismathoiri gur formhór a uathachas. ach cupla seactain tar eist e seo agus thosigh na paisti ag fail tanai seacas an mead bia a thugtear dobh, agus tar eist timpeall 3 mhi ar an leighas Wærm™, bheith an galar Buar Dearg achu. faoi ta pictuir de steig mor paiste lan le ubhacha o Wærm™ ar ionscópacht ar an drólann.
initially parents who signed their children up to the Wærm™ study were elated at how calmer and quieter their children seemed after beginning treatment. however after a couple of weeks the parents began noticing that their children were becoming skinnier and paler by the day, and by 3 months into treatment the children would show symptoms of red scours, below is an image taken from a colonoscopy of a child 2 months into Wærm™ treatment, showing Wærm™ eggs growing on the walls of the large intestine.
tar eist a fuiar na paisti sa scrudu bhas, bhi fearg an doamhn ar a tuismathoiri, agus daoine fasta le uathachas iad fein. fan DecCo IWP chuin ar fadh tri bhlian, ni ach de bhar an scannal seo, ach freisin mar bhi siad ag obair ar chean de na torganamh is casta a feictear ar an daomhn riobh.
after many of the children included in the Wærm™ study passed away from internal bleeding and malnutrition, both their parents and many adults with autism we're furious at DerCo IWP, and so they decided to focus more into one of their most complex projects yet that was sure to put them in a more favorable light.
i rith an crothu den chead fréamhshamhail fanas, bhi siad ag an pointe gur raibh an chuid is mo den corp ag obair i gceart, seacas michuma aisteach a conaic na eolai nuair a bhi na fanas seo cuirthe ar raca aris (pictuir de na michuma seo chuithe thar). tar eist srcudu ar a fola agus a droim, fuair na eolai amach gur raibh carnadh miotal trom na cnamha agus an corp ribh a bhi an fan cuirthe as-raca ag deanamh docair don corp i rith an proseis as-raca. nuair a bhi na eolai ag lorg leighas don fadbh seo, d'feach siad ar ais ar chean se a tionscanamh is-conspóideach.
during the creation of the first faun prototypes, they were at the point where all the body's systems were working as expected, except for the unexpected deformities when the fauns were re-racked for the first time (as shown in the image above). after investigating blood and spine samples, an extreme buildup of heavy metals in bone tissue was noticed, likely affecting the regrowth of the faun's body. in order to prevent this from happening to future prototypes, the researchers looked towards their most controversial GMO.
