          nathaniel’s   harsh   words   struck   a   chord.   the   cat   glancing   toward   the   rooster   with   slight   shock,   before   it   melted   into   contemplation.   he   was   never   ...   questioned.   sure,   ladybug   would   argue   with   him   about   it,   though   it   was   quickly   turned   away   as   a   joke.   a   tilted   smirk   with   a   promise   that   it   was   just   to   annoy   her,   but   a   question   of   why   ?  

          perhaps   he   had   gotten   spoiled   on   knowing   that   ladybug’s   power   allowed   things   to   go   back   to   normal.   was   it   selfish   of   him   to   depend   on   that   to   bring   him   back   from   the   brink   each   time   ?   did   he   care   ?  

          a   swallow.

          the statement shocks him. has chat stare at him quietly before frowning and shaking his head. the movement quickly moves faster until his neck was sure to hurt from the way he gestured, moving to grip nathaniel’s arms in his hands — as if to keep him from running away.
