giggling, you lay your head on trevor’s shoulder as the entire group around you erupts into laughter. nights like these were your favorites: the boys had a free night, they were carefree, and you were able to have as much fun as you’d want. you were surrounded by all of your best friends and you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
this little diner was your favorite. you couldn’t possibly count all the friday nights you had spent there with the ntdp boys – there were just way too many. and many of those nights ended up like this, squeezed into a corner both with barely any room to breathe, but you seemed to forget all about that with how much fun you always ended up having.
trevor’s arm was carelessly thrown over your shoulder, but at this point the boys were unfazed. it wasn’t unusual for him to do that. the boys often teased both of you because they were positive you were gonna date. you certainly wouldn’t deny that you had feelings for trevor, but the only thing holding you back was the fact you weren’t positive if he liked you back. all signs pointed towards yes, but still, there’s always that little bit of doubt.
“y/n! are you coming to the game tomorrow afternoon?” jack grinned at you from across the table. his smile was so contagious you couldn’t help but smile back at him.
“of course. wouldn’t miss it for the world, you know that hughes.” you say, and you weren’t lying. over the past few months you had gotten so close to all of the u18 boys that they were pretty much your brothers at this point. and of course you’d want to support your brothers.
“we need our favorite supporter there,” trevor smiles down at you and you smile back up at him. you felt the familiar feeling of the butterflies in your stomach that always seemed to be there when trevor was around. he always had that effect on you.
“well don’t worry,” you say. “i’ll be there - same place, same time, same spot.” you confirm. you always made sure to sit in the same seat every time so the boys knew where to look for you.
“do you guys wanna head back to my place?” cole suggests, and almost immediately everyone is on board. “we can watch a movie or something. the night is young and so are we.”
and then that was how you found yourself squished on a couch in between alex and trevor, miracle playing on the tv in cole’s basement. there was a blanket draped over your lap and trevor’s, and you were curled up more into trevor’s side with your head pressed against his arm. he absentmindedly rubbed his hand up and down your arm, providing a comforting feeling you didn’t know you needed.
from his spot on the love seat cole chuckled. “could you guys get any closer?” he asked. “c’mon, you guys can tell us.”
“tell you what?” trevor’s eyebrows furrowed and you picked your head up from his arm. some of the boys gave each other confused looks.
“that you guys – you aren’t together?” jack’s voice was laced with pure confusion as he spoke. “we thought you guys were dating and just keeping it a secret.”
“we’re not dating,” you say and cross your arms over your chest. you had only told them this like three hundred times by now.
trevor didn’t mean to say it, but his mouth acted much faster than his mind. “but we could be.”
you nearly gave yourself whiplash from turning your head so fast to look at him. your heart raced. you couldn’t believe he had actually said that. “what?” you manage to muster out and trevor’s cheeks flush red. all of the attention was on you,5 the boys watching and listening intently.
“i like you, y/n. thought i made that pretty clear,” he chuckled and you found yourself grinning wildly.
“good think i like you too, zegras,” you say. “what do you say we make these rumors true then?”
“i’d like that.”
