NRL Tips - Round 14

Round 14 of the NRL is another shortened round due to State of Origin with just the four matches, but as we’ve seen in the past, things don’t get any easier and it’s just as easy to get a big fat zero as it is to get a full round.

Speaking of full rounds, and Steve was just one win away from taking one last week but for the Roosters to not show up once again against the Sharks, this time meekly going down at Remondis Stadium.

Declan extended his lead at the top of the leaderboard with six correct tips, with Michael also grabbing six, Cameron, James and Joshua all grabbed five correct tips.

So how will things pan out this week? Well you’d think the Rabbitohs returning to form would be too good for the toothless Tigers minus their Origin stars, however with no Greg Inglis, Adam Reynolds still injured and now Issac Luke out, is it really set in stone?

On Saturday, the Roosters will look to put last week’s performance behind them and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will be looking for a big game against his club for next season, the Warriors. Can they do it minus their Origin quartet and Jared Waraea-Hargreaves who has succumbed to injury?

Sunday sees the Titans hosting the Bulldogs and with the Dogs missing a plethora of players you’d have to favour the Titans at home (our writers are split 50/50 on this one).

Round 14 wraps up on Monday night with the Eels hosting the Storm minus their big three, but the Eels have their own issues with Chris Sandow all but out of the club after his midweek comments, will he even turn up anymore?

NRL Tips - Round 13

Round 13 is here (thankfully after this weekend we won’t have to endure anymore will he, won’t he sagas) and it’s time to take a look at what our writers are tipping this week.

Last week was a bit of a tough round (when isn’t it) but Stew managed to blitz it with 6/7, taking him to within a point of the lead.

The same can’t be said for runaway leader Declan, who stumbled with just 2/7, but he retains the lead on 52 (just) ahead of Stew on 51.

This week, things kind of return to normal with a full round of matches and no Origin interruptions. Does this mean it will be easy? Unlikely!

Things kick off on Friday night with both of Daly Cherry-Evans’ teams in action. The Sea Eagles travel to Brisbane while the Titans are in Sydney.

NRL Tips - Round 12

Well, wasn’t last week a shocker! Apart from Declan (outright leader and now four tips clear at the top) most of us had a mare once again. Michael even managed to outdo himself and get a full round…..of losses. Zero out of four, while Declan kept himself at the top with a very respectable three out of four for round 11.

Below you’ll see the tips for each of our team in order of position, with their score for the season next to their name. Compare yourself to them, where would you be sitting after 11 rounds?

This week, things will obviously not get any easier with players backing up left, right and centre from a gruelling State of Origin on Wednesday night.

Friday night we get just the one clash again with the Panthers hosting the Eels at Pepper Stadium, and just one brave soul has tipped the Eels with James going all out to try and get back into the race.

Saturday sees three clashes with the Rabbitohs favoured over the Titans, the Raiders have slightly more support at home against an Origin affected Broncos, while the Cowboys are favoured at home against a struggling Sea Eagles side.

On Sunday, the Warriors are tipped to get the job done against the Knights at home, while Dragons have more support in the local derby against the Sharks. We wrap up with the Roosters and Storm in Sydney on Monday night, with the Storm favourites amongst our tippers.

NRL Tips - Round 9

A week off from the NRL tips with the Representative matches taking the spotlight last week, and boy did some of us need it with a shocking start to the season.

Round eight saw a highest score of just four correct tips, the lowest so far this season. That figure was shared by Ben, Cameron, Declan, James, Joshua and Michael. At the other end Nick managed just the one correct, Steve, Sam and Christian all managed just two correct, while Stew got three.

Things are getting tight at the top of the leaderboard now with Cameron, Declan and Joshua all sharing the lead on 35 points!

Things don’t get any easier this week either, with not one match throwing up a consistent winner.

The Roosters and Broncos are favourites for Friday night’s matches, with the Tigers and Panthers getting one tip each. On Saturday, the Raiders, Sharks and Cowboys are all favoured at home, but the Titans, Warriors and Bulldogs also have a bit of support.

Sunday, the Sea Eagles and Storm have more support but the Knights and Eels, at home, have got some love too. Monday night, surprisingly the Dragons have a massive amount of support with the Rabbitohs not getting many tips!

NRL Tips - Round 8

Round 7 of the NRL was another tough one but four of our tipsters came away with their heads held high. Joshua top scored with 6, while James, Cameron and Nick all finished the round with a respectable 5.

Stew and Steve didn’t fare so well with just 2 correct tips this week.

Joshua, Declan and Cameron lead the field on 31 for the season, with James (26) and Ben (25) bringing up the rear.

This week, the Bulldogs are favoured to get over the Tigers with just three choosing Wests.

On ANZAC Day, the Warriors, Cowboys, Roosters, Storm and Broncos all have support, while on Sunday the Sharks and Rabbitohs are favoured to win.

NRL Tips - Round 7

Last week was another shocker in the NRL tips department, except for Stew who managed to blitz it with six correct tips, followed by Michael on five.

Overall, Stewart jumps to a tie of the lead with Declan, with Cameron not far behind on 26, while most of the tipsters sit just behind on 25 correct. Ben and James bring up the rear with 22 and 21 respectively.

Things don’t get any easier, and with State of Origin rearing it’s head soon, things will more than likely get even tougher.

This week, everyone agrees that the Cowboys should be too strong for the Warriors, but that’s where it ends with every other game split.

The majority think the Bulldogs and Broncos will get the job done on Friday night, however the Dragons and Sea Eagles also have a few backers so this should be an interesting week!

On Saturday, the Titans have most of the support with the Panthers going through an injury crisis, while most have tipped the Roosters to beat the Storm in Melbourne.

Sunday sees the Tigers and Raiders go head to head at Leichardt Oval, with most tipping the Tigers to win that one, while in Newcastle the Knights take on the Eels and the home team has most of the support there.

Monday night wraps things up for round 7 with the Sharks hosting the Rabbitohs, and with the Sharks winning back to back games a few have tipped them for an upset, but most are sticking with the reigning premiers there.
