Jason sat cross legged on the floor, staring at the books in front of him. Itâs been more than an hour and he hasnât been able to take anything in of the material he was supposed to be studying. Â
The door opened and he looked over.Â
He blinked a few times as he looked at Sam, giving her a slight smile and a wave. Â
âHow are you feeling?â she asked softly. Â
Jason swallowed and motioned to her that he was fine. Â
Sam sighed and walked towards, sitting down next to him.  âStudying hard?â she asked and Jason nodded, one hand going to his throat. Â
âHow bad is it?â she asked softly.
Jason pulled over a notebook, quickly writing in it before handing it to her. Â
Sam looked down, quickly reading what he said.  âIt hurts like hellâ the note said âCanât talk at allâ.
âJay....â Sam said softly âDid you drink the medicine?â
Jason nodded slightly and pointed to the bottle that lay on the floor a few feet away from him. Â
âPlease get enough restâ she said.Â
He pointed at the books before tapping his wrist and shaking his head.Â
âIt doesnât matter if youâre sick and canât go. You need to get better firstâ Sam said as she took his head âHave you even been able concentrate on the material?â
Jason looked away.  â...nothing...â he managed to say before coughing painfully, his hand going to his throat again.
âDonât talkâ Sam said âYou know itâs just going to make things worse for youâ
He nodded before pulling his hand through his hair. Â
âIâm going againâ Sam said and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek âDonât push yourself to far, alright?â
â...thank... you...â Jason whispered.Â
Sam sighed and shook her head as she left. Â
Jason watched her leave, before turning his attention back to the books. He started feeling drowsy and warm and tired. It was getting continuously harder and harder to focus on what was going on around him. Â
***
Jason blinked at the books in front of him. Everything blurred and for a moment he couldnât remember what was going on. He pressed his hand against his head. It was pounding painfully. Â
It felt like he was trying to think through a daze. Like everything around him were sluggish and strange. He was so tired, drowsy, that he was barely able to function. So he just sat there, staring at the books. Â
He barely noticed when the door opened.
âJay-Jay?â Rowan asked as he noticed, Jason did not react to him coming in. His friend just sat there staring at the books like he did not know what he was seeing.Â
Jason just muttered something incoherently, voice hoarse and scratchy. Â
Rowan frowned and walked over to Jason, putting a hand on his friend shoulder.  âHey... Jay-Jay?â he asked âAre you alright?â
Jason flinched at the touched before just staring at Rowanâs hand in confusion. It looked like he wasnât even aware of what was going on. Â
âCome on, Jay-Jay...â Rowan said âTalk to me?â
For a moment it looked like Jason was going to try and say something, but he just shut his eyes tightly. Â
Rowan put a hand against Jasonâs forehead.  âYouâre burning upâ he said âWhy didnât you say something?â
â...row...â Jason muttered before he just slumped to the side, forcing Rowan to catch him. His breathing sounded a bit off, strained and painful. After a moment his eyes flickered open again, unfocused and confused.Â
âShit, Jason...â he said and slowly moved so he could put Jasonâs arm over his shoulders and slowly helped the other guy to get up. Â
Jason leaned against him, barely able to move on his own.
Slowly Rowan helped Jason out of the office and to his room. Jason were barely reacting to anything. He was unbalanced, barely able to move in a straight line. Â
His eyes flickered open when they reached his room. Â
He flinched as the world around him started morphing into strange shapes. Quickly he shut his eyes again, biting back a moan. He shook his head slightly, as if trying to get away from the images and pain and confusion. Â
âJason....â Rowan said as he was forced to catch his friend when he collapsed right in front of his door.
Rowan swore as he picked Jason up carrying him to the bed. Â
âIâm going to call the docâ he said he stepped back. Â
Jason groaned, his eyes flickering open for a moment . They were unfocused. For a moment his eyes found Rowan. Â
â....Rowan...â he muttered, the word slurred and confused âI... I donât... I...â
Rowan sighed.  âitâs okay, manâ he said gently âItâs alright... The doc will take care of you, just get some rest alright?â
Jasonâs eyes were confused, it was like he had no idea what Rowan was talking about, unable to understand anything. Rowan just sighed and patted Jason on the shoulder.  âStay here, buddyâ he said âTry to get some sleep, alright?â
Still Jason just stared at him with confusion. Â
âSleep...â Rowan said. Â
Jason closed his eyes after a moment.  â... sorry....â he muttered his words slurring almost unrecognizable. Â
Rowan sighed and pulled out his phone as he left the room, pulling the door close behind him.
***
âWhere is he?â Sam asked softly. Â
âThe doc just leftâ Rowan said âGave some medicine for Jason, but thatâs about itâ
âAnd.... Whatâs going on with him?â
âThe usual... Heâs got a really high fever. Doc said thatâs why he started to before deliriousâ
âHe was alright this morning...â Sam said softly âMaybe a little tired, but he didnât look sickâ
âYou know how it goesâ Rowan said âHe always get the worseâ
Sam nodded.  âIâll try to get his fever downâ she said as she took the cloth and bowl from Rowan âYou get some rest, pleaseâ
Rowan nodded.Â
With that Sam made her way to Jason room. Jason was asleep, moving restlessly in the bed, like he was dreaming. Â
Sam placed the bowl on the bedside table before sitting down on the bed, brushing some of Jasonâs sweaty hair out of his face.
âJay...?â she said softly âHey sweetheart... How are you feeling?â
For a moment it looked like Jason were going to wake up, but he just muttered hoarsely before continuing to sleep.
Gently Sam touched his forehead. Even before she could even touch him, she felt the heat radiating of his skin. He was moving restlessly, like he was having a bad dream.
His broken voice muttered softly, barely audible words. Â
Sam wrung out the cloth and wiped Jasonâs face, gently trying to cool him down a bit. Â
âSsshhh...â she said softly, brushing his hair back and putting the cool cloth on his forehead âEasy now, my dear... Take it easy and let me take care of you for onceâ
Jason moaned as he moved a bit restlessly.
Sam bit her lip.  âCome on you idiotâ she said sternly âJust keep still would you?â
For a moment Jasonâs eyes flickered open. They searched around, looking for something before flinching and closing them again. Â
âJasonâ Sam said cupping his cheek âHey whatâs wrong?â
The way his eyes moved, behind the closed lids, was familiar. It was clear that he was dreaming. Â
Sam sighed and cooled the cloth again, wiping his face. Â
Jason muttered, his breathing spiked and he moved even more restlessly. The words slurred and broken.
The moment he started thrashing around, she knew what was going on. Gently she focused on calming him down, trying to keep the fevered dreams from getting any worse. Â
It was when the worse dreams started. Â
Jason started thrashing on the bed, muttering and tangling in the sheets. Sam did her best to calm him down.Â
His eyes flickered open for a moment. Â
âSsshhh.... Itâs alright, Jayâ Sam said, brushing his hair back with one hand âItâs just a dream... Deep breaths... Youâve got a feverâ
Jasonâs fevered eyes found her, they looked confused.  â....Sammy....â
Sam brushed his hair back.  âItâs alrightâ she said gently âEverything is alright. It was just a dream. Donât try to talk alright?â
For a moment his eyes went out of focus before closing again as he fell back into a fevered sleep. The dreams kept on coming back. Some worse than others, making him thrash around and try calling out, while his voice refused to work.
Sam stayed with him, until the fevered dreams became less and he lowly started waking up again. Â
Jason groaned, wincing at the pain in his throat.  â...sammy...â he muttered, struggling to get his voice to voice. It felt raw, like heâs been scream.
âJayâ Sam said with a tired smile, leaning over him, cupping his face âHey... Are you awake now?â
He nodded slightly before shivering. Â
âWhy didnât you tell us you werenât feeling well?â she asked as she reached over to the bedside table, picking up the medicine the doctor left for him.
âsorry...â he muttered.
âItâs alrightâ she said âDrink this. It should help with the fever and the painâ
Jason tried to sit up, but his arms just gave in beneath him. With a sigh, Sam gently lifted his head, so he could swallow the medicine.
âNow try to get some proper sleep...â She said, gently pulling her fingers through his hair âIâm not going any where... So try to get some sleepâ

Hey everyone! This is our first proper post so please be patient while we find our bearings with what weâre doing.. because who knows really.Â
On Friday we took a trip to Green Pastures, a garden centre just outside of Norwich which none of us had visited before.Â
It was easy to find via signs on the main road and had a huge car park which made social distancing nice and easy.Â
Chaelynâs first thoughts was that it looked quite small, and it wasnât super clear about which was the entrance and exit (implemented because covid). On the front of the main building was signs about winning awards (garden centre of the year!!!!), and also had a post office and a farm shop - lush!Â
Once we figured out the entrance, we were surprised how big the outside area actually was! The plants were laid out well, everything was in categories so it was easy to find what you were looking for and there was plenty of different varieties.Â
We didnât go with anything specific in mind that we wanted to get, but it was a good place for a browse. Chloe got a reduced white lavender which was actually in great condition at 50% marked price, meaning it was ÂŁ4.50 and Ollie got an ornamental grass, it wasnât labelled but it was also half price and cost somewhere around a fiver which is perfect for next to his new pond (more to come on that soon, Iâm sure). Chaelyn bought a ceramic pot which again was half price, so we must have caught them at a good time! Regardless of the reduced items, we felt that in general they were reasonably priced throughout their plants, and everything seemed great quality.Â
Chloe absolutely fell in love with a few of the dahlias that they had in stock, which again were reasonably priced and great condition. It was nice to see something a bit more striking, and she is pretty passionate about Dahlias.Â
Indoors had the normal selection of tools, seeds and tat. The tools werenât cheap, but no more expensive than anywhere else - standard prices for branded tools. There was some cute niknaks, some were a bit tacky, but we did enjoy the bird house that looked like a pub đ (but maybe thatâs just lockdown kicking in). Definitely a good spot to buy gifts for your mum.Â
Tiny houseplant section, nothing particularly unusual, but not really the sort of place youâd go for houseplants anyway so no love lost there.Â
Service was nice, the lady was polite and friendly but felt a bit bad for her trying to serve as well as âpoliceâ the queue to keep them 2 metre apart on her own!Â
Ash and Chaelyn popped into the farm shop after we paid. Covid meant that there was a strict one way system, but that didnât spoil anything. As soon as you walk in there is loads of fresh, local fruit and veg. The place is packed with typical âfarm shopâ stuff, as well as local teas, booze, bakery items and Chaelynâs favourite - soaps and cake! Prices were really reasonable for the quality and service was friendly. All in all, really enjoyable.Â
