Why move animals out of their habitat?

I recently visited a zoo in Spain, a poorly maintained facility with dirty windows and completely out of order interactive areas. Personally, I rarely go to zoos. The visit was not entirely pleasant, but we need to look even further. After this trip I thought “but why do you have to move animals from their habitat? to enjoy people to see animals? " at this point I find no differences between a circus and a zoo. I remember numerous scenes in films where mermaids risk being freak phenomena, obviously they don't like it, and do you think animals like it? When I was a child I didn't understand what it meant to be behind a cage and see other beings staring at you. I find it a very bad thing and without any morals. I imagine some schools that still take children to zoos, to meet animals that are not local and to make them remain unaware of the fact that they were not born there and that they could not decide on their life.

If there is to be a zoo, it must first of all be without cages and with animals present in that place and not others that are transferred from their habitat to live in another similar or totally different one. Same goes for safaris, certainly giraffes and elephants were not born in Europe.

Perché spostare gli animali dal proprio habitat?

Di recente ho visitato uno zoo in Spagna, una struttura poco curata, con vetri sporchi, e zone interattive completamente fuori uso. Personalmente vado di rado negli zoo.  La visita è stata non del tutto piacevole, ma del resto bisogna guardare anche oltre. Dopo questa gita ho pensato “ma perché bisogna spostare degli animali dal proprio habitat? per piacere delle persone?” a questo punto non ci trovo differenze tra un circo e uno zoo. Ricordo numerose scene di film dove delle sirene rischiano di essere dei fenomeni da baraccone, ovviamente non gli piace, e pensate che agli animali faccia piacere? Quando ero bambina non capivo cosa significasse stare dietro una gabbia e vedere altri esseri che ti fissano. Trovo che sia una cosa bruttissima e senza nessuna morale. Immagino alcune scuole che portano ancora i bambini negli zoo, a conoscere degli animali che non sono del posto e a farli rimanere all’oscuro del fatto che non sono nati lì e che non hanno potuto decidere della loro vita.
