This Vegan Whole Wheat Soda Bread is a simple and delicious bread that requires minimal ingredients and no yeast. It's perfect for serving alongside soups, stews, or enjoying on its own.
Ingredients: 3 cups whole wheat flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 1/4 cups non-dairy milk such as almond or soy milk. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 400F 200C. In a small bowl, mix together the non-dairy milk and apple cider vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes to curdle. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt. Pour the curdled non-dairy milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a little more non-dairy milk. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a round loaf. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
