originally it was inspired by smallpwbbles tiny jax au, which was giving me crazy system vibes, and so i busted out these!

IRL jax has been diagnosed with OSDD but is in denial of it, and so doesnt acknowledge it (for a while at least). these also arent the only people in the system, but theyre the only ones in a certain area & the only ones jax knows about.

More fleshed out I wanted to dive into their roles; Gabriel being a caretaker but not a protector, she generally does what she thinks is right, but not what is actually healthy or beneficial and is pretty lenient with Jax. I mean she kinda has to be. he refuses to acknowledge that she exists

Jackson is sort of a time capsule into their childhood, and is most of the things Jax has repressed combined with anger. Also while Jax is both the host and persecutor I think he's also inadvertently somewhat of a gatekeeper, being that only he has the keys to the rest of the system. but again, either willfully ignores it or genuinely doesnt know it's there.

Gabriel + Jackson didnt actually have names until they fronted in the circus, because there was never any need for them to have names before that. Also the circus translating switches into physical reality makes jax's whole denial thing pretty difficult. I haave a bit of a comic started, the idea of it being that Jax ran away into the headspace and got lost, and Gabriel has to both find him and figure out how to run things & interact with everyone

and for a bonus: leontes from the winter's tale but specifically how he was played in a production I saw at the globe in london in 2018. just on the page he annoys me but that performer really sold that this is a guy who can barely live with himself after doing All That and isn't really asking the audience to disagree with him.

If you want other artists/bands, there's LiSA, Metric, and Pale Waves ^^ Beach Bunny also seems to be pretty similar to Paramore, but I haven't heard much of them yet so I don't feel qualified to recommend them
