* you can publish this* Hank was real dumb just saying that the Dean of Medicine accepts bribes lol bc clearly Lauren had no idea that was going on. I was thinking maybe she didn't do the bribe per se, but actually blackmailed Hank and the Dean of Medicine about their little kickback that they have going on. Obviously, it's messy as hell for Lauren and Leyla but at least no money was exchanged (looking at the bright-side!)
Hmmm, yeah, that's definitely an option. It could indeed be the "better" option in terms of professional repercussions for Lauren while still causing conflict with Leyla for doing it in the first place and then keeping it a secret. And it could be a good little twist, in that clearly we saw Lauren acting a bit off and we know the new position didn't open up magically, but we don't know what exactly happened to get there. This could be the unexpected but still believable path.
