A fangirl wakes up in her favorite fantasy world. She makes friends with her favorite characters, goes on amazing adventures and even finds love. She finally after years of feeling left out and years of being the family disappointment she feels acceptance, love, compassion, and hope. The story ends in a cliffhanger leaving an opening for a second book, however in the epilogue you discover that she was in a car crash and has been in a coma for the last twelve years and the doctors have not witnessed any signs of improvement. The last line of the book is, “And with the steady flat line of the monitor the sweet dream comes to an end.”

I work at a supermarket stocking shelves. One day I’m filling out display shelves at the front of the store and don’t I notice that a customer had left one of those square shopping carts that people have for personal use by this display. The unique thing about the cart is its encased in a black canvas making it so you can not see anything inside the cart. Normally I wouldn’t think anything of it I’d just mind my own business and do my job. But this was a special case. It was the day after the Paris terrorist attacks. So naturally my imaginative brain convinced me that inside this cart could be absolutely nothing other than some sort of explosive device. I know it’s irrational, I know it’s illogical, but somehow my mind had me convinced that inside this cart was nothing other than a few bricks of plastic explosives connected by wires like I’ve seen in hundreds of movies and television shows. While I was in my near paralytic state the elderly customer who’s cart I had been staring at for the past 10 minutes comes over and corrals his belongings and makes his way out of the store, but not before he tells me to “have a nice night now.” Unbeknownst to him I had just had a near meltdown of epic proportions. I was contemplating removing the canvas covering and emptying the contents of the cart all over the front of the store just to be sure that I couldn’t possibly be right about what was inside, before he came and rescued his groceries. After I calmed down a bit I had an epiphany about a possible main character for a book. I want to create a story about a character who has been going through life dealing with a vivid imagination coupled with a more extreme version of the paranoia I myself felt that day. I feel like I would want to read a story like this, and there are opportunities to be had with possible scenarios involving the character. I barely have more than an idea at this point, but I do know this. There is more in my head that I need to get written and my note book is getting awfully full.
