character ask meme: Roy Harper! (comics or YJ or both, your pick)
Imma go with comics coz yj Roy (both of them lmao) are kinda boring (Also Iâm on mobile so formatting is kinda off sorry)
-How I feel about this character:I love Roy heâs such a great character? Whoâs had so much development over the years? And DC really doesnât appreciate him as much as they should
-All the people I ship romantically with this character:Jason Todd, Jason and Kory, Donna Troy, kiiiiinda Cheshire but mostly coz I love Lian
-My non-romantic OTP for this character:The Fab Five are such a great group. Titans forever
-My unpopular opinion about this character:The Roy-Jason-Kory teamup was good. The writing was bad and disrespected Roy and Kory terribly, but the idea was good
-One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:I wish the new 52 hadnât erased basically his entire character and growth and history and relationships

SUCH a good show. I watched it as it came out, year by year, and your posts have made me want to do a rewatch at some point.
Itâs basically all Iâve been able to think about since before I even started watching it. SUCH a good show. Iâm already dying to rewatch but Iâm so emotionally wrecked I doubt Iâll be able to handle it for a long time.
Did you like the finale? Also, whoâs your favorite character? I know you like Eleanor a lot. ALSO have you read Treasure Island?
novangla replied to your post âurrrrghh fuck you DC, stop fucking up Circe. She was just getting back...â
Oh no, is Trinity actually bad? The art looks so good so I wanted to start reading it. :C
Manapulâs run as writer-artist reminded me a little of Williams and Blackmanâs run on Batwoman in that, while both Francis Manapul and JH Williams III are incredible artists, neither of them are particularly good writers. I talked in spoilery detail about a few of my issues with Manapulâs first arc here, but the short version is-- his heartâs in the right place, but his writing is crappy and Iâm not impressed by the story.
Since Manapul left the book, it doesnât even have good art going for it any more. The current storyline is mostly about throwing as many different trios of characters at each other as possible in the hope that it might somehow become meaningful. The logic seems to have been something like--
âSo, listen, obviously everybody loves the Trinity that is Supes, Bats and Wondy. And weâve been getting a good reception on the Dark Trinity of Bizarro, Red Hood and Artemis. The question is: how do we keep this momentum?â
âWe could do more good comi--â
âCORRECT. WE NEED MORE TRINITIES, MY PEOPLE. MAGIC TRINITIES! KID TRINITIES! EVIL TRINITIES! A vague thematic link and a boy-boy-girl configuration is all it takes!â
âDi-didnât we try this like four years ago with the Trinity of Sin?â
âYES PERFECT WEâLL THROW THEM IN TOO.â
âBuh- but theyâre not a thing anymore? We killed Pandora off and everything. Nobody even noticed.â
âItâs comics! Toss her in a Lazarus pit! No, better-- a Pandora pit!â
âWhat does that even mean?!â
"Doesnât matter, weâll figure it out! The important thing is: TRINITIES. TRINITIES ON TRINITIES ON TRINITIES ON TRINITIESSSSSS3333333333â
Fandom alphabet ask meme: D. I. C. K. :) (I did actually want to ask D so it seemed like a natural choice after that)
fjdskb bridey
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just canât.
d/ckbabs, but mostly because itâs impossible to read anything with them without the ship being shoved in there. i want to actually enjoy books about my favorite characters is that too much to ask??
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
v/oltron and su/pernatural definitely. i feel like there are others but i canât think of them right now
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
again, d/ckbabs. also sp/tfire. w/olfstar, if iâm gonna throw back to harry potter for a sec
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
i love artemis crockâs arc from the first season of yj. taking all the pain her father gave her and deciding to do something good with it, learning to open up and trust her team, really coming into her own as a person and a hero. i love it, i love her, i cry every time

novangla said: I think people are also touchy bc a bunch of ppl recently also accused Constantine of being a SPN ârip-offâ like how is that even possible
Yeah, I heard about that, and the reason I was looking at the comments on the video was to see if there was anyone making that claim. Of course that's a silly accusation because Constantine is way older than Supernatural, but there's a big difference between "they ripped off Supernatural" and "Constantine reminds me of Castiel."
novangla replied to your post âsome quick, messy Lost thoughts before I get back to grading tests: I...â
I'm not sure it's about adding something to explain or move a plot so much as to explain Boone's character and what he's struggling with. Lost is, at the end of the day, a big character study of a lot of characters. That's how I took it, anyway. There are some other ways that I think it's kind of relevant, but it'd be spoilery to say too much more. :)
I guess in that case, if itâs not essential to explaining some part of the plot, I just would have liked it to have tied in more to his previous characterization? It just kind of felt like it came out of nowhere, as opposed to fulfilling a purpose that had already been set up. But again, itâs possible that there was foreshadowing that I missed. I do hope it remains relevant in later episodes so that there is eventually payoff, even if itâs not the immediate payoff Iâve seen in other episodes.
novangla replied to your post âreactions to Lost 1x01â
I'm SO excited for you to watch this and continue sharing your reactions. Also, Shannon and Boone will probably grow on you. Lost has a way of making you do a 180 on characters.
I donât dislike Boone, I think he is a well-intentioned guy who just...isnât very smart. I got a very clear impression of him when Jack is trying to do CPR on that lady (which Boone was trying to do first, even if he was doing it wrong) and Boone runs off to get some pens (?!), which is obviously not going to help and is clearly just a way for Jack to get rid of him, but he takes his mission so seriously that he gets a bunch of pens. That was endearing. Also I really appreciated in the 2nd episode when he tells Shannon off for being unhelpful.
Iâm trying not to be too harsh on Shannon because sheâs clearly supposed to be very young, maybe even a teenager, and she has a good reason to be upset, but...like Boone said, they all went through the same thing and no one else is being so grumpy and unhelpful. Even Walt is being proactive and looking for his dog.
