Nova had been worried sick over the past few days, wanting desperately to reach out to Cricket, to make sure she was sleeping, eating, exercising, doing everything that she could to increase her chances of winning the games. But she knew better than to reach out more than she should. The more often she tried to make contact, the more they risked getting caught for so much more than just talking. There was too much history there, too much to get caught for, but after a couple of days, she needed to check in with her again. So, she sent an avox with a note, a page ripped out of one of the picture books they used to read together. It depicted a fairy godmother and a princess, sitting on the top balcony of the castle. She was sure that Cricket would pick up that it met for Cricket to meet her on the roof of the building, her favorite place in the city. It was calming, to see the city at rest during the nighttime, plus the wind would foil anyone trying to overhear their conversation. She paced on the roof, her head turning when she heard the door opening. “Thank you for meeting me here, I just had to check in on you.” // starter for @cricketlowry
