lilac, waxflower, daisy, marigold
lilac: would you rather sleep and be cozy or hang out with your friends?
Well, I like doing both, but I do value my alone time a lot. So I guess I’d prefer getting cozy.
waxflower: are you a bee or a butterfly person? a dog or a cat person?
Hmm, I’d say butterflies. And cats even though I’m allergic...
daisy: what is your favorite flavor of cotton candy, ice cream, and juice?
My favorite cotton candy is blue raspberry, I like lavender ice cream, and I love mango nectar juice.
marigold: what’s your favorite tea?
Sakurayu.
Every time that I listen 魂のルフラン, I remember you. Hope you are doing good - praise the Lord you are no longer blond...
Eien no Blue! A favorite ballad. We have many new ones now, too.Technically I am still blond, just that I have toned it silver and purple.
So in a way my soul is always kinpatsu. And you just never age, miss Mayumoe. Envious.
@notwintails:
A puzzled look on her eyes, which kept looking at Mari’s smiling face. She wondered in silence what kind of person was her type while scratching the back of her head, but before asking aloud, the older one got interrupted by a playful response instead that was kind of unexpected, given how shy the other woman was.
“I’d say you are a catch! I’ve never dated before. And I don’t think I’m sweet. More like an ‘odd one’! Absolutely not dating material!” She concluded, giving her a reassuring look. She had been involved with few people, but given the nature of those relationships…perhaps ‘dating’ wasn’t the right term to describe them.
Apparently, Mari didn’t seemed to be bothered by her closeness at all. Was she actually poking fun of her? Things weren’t supposed to be like that, she thought. "Does that mean you don’t mind me here?“ That answer intrigued her much more, and was unable to hold back her laughter again, half in amusement and half in relief that she was playing along with her silly self. Her head leaned on Mari’s shoulder as the laughter decreased and only kept a smile on her face.
She did not paid attention to the waiter bringing their drinks, her eyes drifting instead on how carefully the woman next to her took the can to take a sip the drink. Every single part of Mari’s face was visually appealing. She always liked to look and spoil cute, younger girls in a sisterly way. But the way she was feeling at the moment was different and made her wonder many things while looking at the other one. Like if her cheeks were as soft as they looked, or how cute were her beauty marks. She was getting too comfortable, and the closeness was pleasantly warm, but the trance was suddenly broken by another question, making her straight up on her spot.
"Karaoke?” She repeated, clearing her throat and finally moving inches away when realizing how overly comfortable she was acting. The bitter taste of tea in her throat only made her long again for something fresher and sweeter. Another chuuhai, perhaps? Mari’s lips still looked wet after her last sip… “Do you want to go now? Or next time?” She inquired, noticing that she was acting shy again, and even her voice sounded lower. “We should order the bill then.”
“’Not dating material’ isn’t something I would use to describe you, Mayusan.” Mari gave her soft smile, a look of sincerity in her eyes. “You’re certainly a ‘catch’ yourself. And as for ‘odd one’… I guess that’s what makes people special, right? Unique. That’s not so bad, mm?” Her gaze shifted to her lap, though the smile never left. Her hand combed her hair away from her face, a shy habit of hers. Perhaps a more sober Mari would be less inclined to say such things. She’d be more reserved, less likely to enjoy the closeness they shared. But it was easier to get lost in the euphonious laughter and the feeling of warmth she felt in her chest when Mayu rested her head on her shoulder. Mari quite liked how comfortable they were, and she responded to the motion with a tilt of her own head, resting it atop Mayu’s.
Mari took steady sips from her can of chuuhai before Mayu replied. Her response thrilled her, and the excitement could easily be read on Mari’s face. She wants to go! Her mind buzzed, a jubilant feeling overcoming her. “Ah! We can go now, sure! No problem. It’s not too far from here, actually. We can walk there if that’s okay?” Was she a bit too exuberant? Probably. She dialed back some. Her relaxed nature returned, though the excitement didn’t fade.
The waiter eventually came, and Mari requested the bill. She finished her can of chuuhai in the time they waited, thinking of what to say. The silence was less deafening now, no discomfort between them considering how friendly they were being. And at times, Mari found herself staring. Not in an awkward way, at least she hoped. But she couldn’t help but admire her features. She could stare for hours and never find a flaw…
She looked away before Mayu could notice, and by then the waiter had returned with the bill. “Ahh… I can take the bill. My treat! If that’s okay…”
❝Please get up.❞
“I-I can’t...” she admitted, looking over at her ankle. Her eyes narrowed with pain while she winced softly. “I think I injured it.”

Mari’s face after being asked that question was not surprising, and she wasn’t disappointed that she looked rather thoughtful before responding. So Mayu waited for an answer, her chin resting on top of the palm of her right hand, hoping it wasn’t too obnoxious nor thoughtless.
“So…do you have crushes right now? I already forgot how does they feel!” The second sentence came out without thinking, and couldn’t hold it back, with her cheeks turning reddish in embarrassment. She was in process of moving on from something that was doomed to fail from the beginning. Secrets. Lies. Let downs. And zero attention, unless the other person felt like calling (which was very rare). It was kind of odd that someone she barely knew was way warmer and attentive than he ever was for the last months. “Whoever you are having a crush right now, is very lucky!” She said sincerely, with the slightly wider smile being result of the cans she had drank prior Mari arrived.
She so was pretty. And natural - the kind of attractive that barely needed something to stand out from the crowd, even if the taller one seemed like the type who liked to be incognito due of her shyness. Mayu kept her hand next to her head, brushing more the long black locks of her hair, fingertips barely caressing her head. An affectionate gesture she usually reserved for people closest to her. She didn’t felt like breaking the closeness, and her companion didn’t seem to mind much, and her positive answer regarding the length of her hair made Mayu smile more, paying more attention to her features and only moved away when she made the gesture of lean down to her plate. She was no longer hungry, but followed by taking a few more bites from her meal.
They remained silent for a couple minutes, but it was no longer awkward. It was rather relaxing, Mayu was considering to order hot tea to ‘wake up’. Alcohol was taking its toll and she began to feel a little dizzy, yet pleased. “Doesn’t freak you out to have lunch with a strange, Mari?” The honorific gone, Mayu tried to make her voice a bit deeper to make the question. She was being playful, even standing out from her place to kneel behind the taller female, with her lips close to whisper. “What if I bother you to the point you’ll run off?” The whole acting fell out when she bursted out laughing again. “Ahh, I’m sorry! Did I creep you out?”
She nodded in response to the question of her crushes. “Mhm, I do.” She smiled, coupled with another nervous chuckle, “I’m unsure if they know it though.” Granted, of course, her biggest crush sat right in front of her. She liked Mayu. She would see her in the library often, always found her pretty. But it was always the same question that made it difficult for Mari to gather enough courage and approach her. Does she like girls? But now here they were, and Mari found herself drawn to her even more. It helped that Mayu was quite easy to warm up to, and affectionate too, judging from the way she gently combed through Mari’s long hair. An intimate gesture, one Mari seemed to enjoy.
“’Lucky’, hmm? Are you saying I’m a catch, Mayusan?” Her tone was more playful now. Her lips spread into a wide smile that matched Mayu’s, followed closely by a low laugh. “You’re too sweet.” She finished the last of the champuru on her plate and took the chance to order another chuuhai after Mayu ordered her tea.
The momentary silence didn’t bother Mari all too much. Usually she would feel herself growing anxious as the silence continued, but being in Mayu’s company seemed to put her at ease. Nights like this were nice. Knowing someone like Mayu was nice. But it was so rare. How many people in Mari’s life were so… kind? And exuded this brightness that outshines anyone next to them. Perhaps she was exaggerating. It had only been one night after all. And still there was the desire to learn more, to be closer. She wanted to see her again. I should ask, she thought. But how? And when? Did Mayu even want to see her again? Maybe not…
Her contemplation was interrupted by Mayu’s question, one that had Mari’s brow raised. Her face showed more surprise as Mayu knelt next to her, her face close as she whispered. Mari swallowed, slight heat rushing to her cheeks. And she couldn’t help but grin. Mayu was being awfully silly, and when she broke into a fit of laughter, Mari laughed too. It wasn’t the soft chuckles or pigeon laughter she’d made throughout the night. It was resonant, contagious laughter. A kind of laugh that rarely escaped her. “It’ll take more than that to creep me out, Mayusan,” she giggled once more, and offered the other a warm smile.
She relaxed and collected herself, though the smile didn’t leave her face. Once they were served their drinks, Mari immediately took a sip of her chuuhai. Now’s your chance! Her thoughts raced. “Mayusan… can I ask you something?” the nervousness of earlier returned. “Do you, um… like karaoke? I mean, we could go together. If you want to, that is. You can watch me embarrass myself with my bad singing.” She laughed nervously and fidgeted in her seat. Mari was prepared to be shot down.

Of course it’s this and happy Mayuyu. I like Mayuyu when she’s smiling. Like the real smile. Not the smile for photo shoots. Though I actually really like this photo and swag Mayuyu. At the end I just can’t decide. There’s too many.
