Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is for my players to stick to the plot hooks that I've given to them.
Me, talking about being a DM: haha i just kinda like to wing it, y'know? just have some fun and make some goofy goofs :))) Me, actually being a DM: *spends weeks creating stories and characters months before they'll ever show up in game, prints out dozens of hand outs for the players, creates unique stat blocks for homebrew characters and monsters, all the while knowing that my players will never realize the work i put into the campaign which they'll ultimately derail with bs shenanigans* just have some fun and make some goofy goofs :)))
While we're talking about alignment, I've always thought it'd be super cool to play a Lawful Evil character in an adventuring party with a bunch of heroes. LE has always been an alignment that piqued my interest because like... unlike neutral evil or chaotic evil, hell even unlike chaotic neutral, a Lawful Evil character would never outright murder someone because like... that's against the law. They have no moral qualms against it other than it is against the law, or perhaps dishonorable. LE characters that are obsessed with concepts of Honor and Glory are incredibly interesting to me, especially in worlds where honor and glory are basically trademarks of heroes and adventurers. If you watch it, I've always thought of Endeavor from bnha as an interesting character that I headcannon as Lawful Evil. He is a hero by trade, hell he's one of the best heroes in the business, beaten only by the completely overpowered All Might. However, despite his title, you kind of get the impression that he's only in it for the glory and the title. While the idea that the strong protect the weak is almost a hallmark of the idea of heroism, Endeavor is obsessed with making sure that he is the strongest, only for the glory of it. He even has kids for the sole reason of creating a bloodline that is stronger than his rival All Might. I personally love the character of Endeavor as he is, in the framework of the show, a terrible human being and somewhat of a villain, but in the world that the show takes place in he is one of the worlds greatest heroes. Idk. I just think that would be a fun type of character to play, especially in roleplay heavy games like D&D.
