not respond immediately
take days (or weeks) to reply
ignore emails that don't serve you
turn off notifications completely
not be available 24/7
let people wait
prioritize your time over their urgency
say "I don't have capacity for this right now"
ghost conversations that drain you
batch your responses once a week instead of constantly monitoring
not feel guilty about digital boundaries
your availability is not a service you owe to everyone with your contact information.
just because someone sent a message doesn't mean you're obligated to respond. just because you saw it doesn't mean you have to engage right now.
inbox zero is not a moral achievement. being constantly reachable is not a personality trait worth having.
