Itâd only been a few days since he arrived here and still, he found himself bewildered and amazed by the complexity that existed here. Humans werenât just humans anymore, some looked morphed with other elements, a majority could do things he wouldnât expect-- his fascination compelled the serpent to investigate more and it seemed these things were called âquirksâ and they mysteriously began appearing some time ago. Reeves was elated, this mysterious find was absolutely marvelous and he wanted to know all there was! However, it seemed infighting was still prominent among the human species and he wondered how they fared in this world with such abilities at their disposal. It seemed heâd gotten his answer a bit sooner than he wouldâve liked when he himself was caught in the crossfire of some kind of conflict.Â
A bystander is what theyâd call him, he thinks, or a civilian; but it didnât matter. The serpent didnât have any outward reaction to any of it, simply observing silently where he stood to take in what was going on. He would be fine, after all. So it didnât matter to him much-- but when he felt a fairly hot hand on his shoulder to pull him back, a squeak left the small deity and he turned mismatched hues to the one who pulled him out of the apparent line of fire. Duality. Thatâs his first thought when he sees this one. Though it becomes clear heâs at a disadvantage while heâs trying to protect civilians. Perhaps he should step in and minimize the damage caused? He says nothing, simply reaching up and gently patting the maleâs hand on his shoulder before removing it while he turned his gaze to the one causing all the fuss, that analytic and disapproving gaze twisting his usually jovial expression.Â
Trying to comprehend what happened next would be difficult for anyone, because before anyone could make sense of his existence being there-- the deity had the troublemaker on his front and pinned down beneath his small body. Heâd transported himself where heâd last walked and sunk his fangs into the manâs shoulder to paralyze him, all in the span of seconds, to neutralize the threat at hand. His knee across arms folded back, the crater beneath the two a bewildering effect since it did not appear that Reeves would weigh much at all or have that much force in his tiny body-- but really, he simply adjusted his weight to feel as if he were the one of his natural body size as a serpent.Â
âMy apologies, it seems my size mightâve influenced you to think me helpless. I assure you though, I am anything but helpless. I do loathe conflict though, so youâll be going with these lovely looking people and youâll behave, wonât you?â Thereâs hardly even a threat in his tone, but when he gets up thereâs no struggle at all. He simply dusts himself off and adjusts his coat before closing the gap between himself and the one whoâd been doing his best to protect the civilians in the area. A complete one eighty, his jovial smile was back as dual hues looked up at the other, âI apologize to you as well, its clear my standing there and observing put you at risk. Thank you for pulling me out of harms way.âÂ
