From what I know, there’s no official info saying that they started dating when Adèle was 17. I’m pretty sure they started dating after she was 18 at least. 

But when I see how Céline is, how both of them interact together, how Céline saved Adèle’s life when she met her, i’m 100% sure their relationship was 100% healthy from the very beginning. 

Of course a 10 years gap in a relationship can be tricky, but I do believe it’s also very different when it’s two women and not a man/woman couple. The dynamic is very different and there’s no way Céline manipulated Adèle. Even less after she told her about Ruggia. They must have talked a lot before being in a relationship. To be sure Adèle knew what she wanted, that she didn’t want that just because she was influenced by Céline or because she felt safe with her. Céline is such a GOOD person, she must have thought it through for a very long time. 

Adèle was already very strong minded at 17, I don’t think she would have let anything happened to her again after the Ruggia case. She would have left cinema forever if that was the case. I think Céline helped her heal and grow and become the great and intelligent person she is today. But it wasn’t just one way. Adèle had also a great influence on Céline. There was a real balance between those two. They made each other grow.
